PlanetRemote is a software package that allows you to take control of your computer remotely as if you were sitting right in front of it. You can control your computer using a standard web browser from any computer connected to the Internet or your local network. PlanetRemote bundles the popular VNC remote access software with a DNS service that will assign your computer a static Internet Name, allowing you to access your computer via myname.planetdns.net (or your own domain name) even if you are using a regular internet connection with a dynamic IP address. Security is provided by assigning a special access password to your computer, which is needed each time you want to control your computer remotely. Additional features include time synchronization, email forwarding and routing, as well as email virus scanning and spam filtering. PlanetRemote allows you to take full advantage of your internet connection by maintaining a static name for your computer that allows you to extend its functionality beyond the capabilities of an average internet connection.
