ParseRat
parse, extract and convert data
ParseRat is an intelligent tool to parse, convert and restructure files in many different formats and process the parsed data in several different ways. It can be used for extracting data from legacy processes or those where data can only be exported as printed reports. ParseRat supports reading ASCII and EBCDIC, parsing and converting dates, names and addresses into components. It can also genderize names, generate Soundex and perform intelligent DeDuplication. Some usage examples are: generate titles (Mr, Ms. etc) from first names, convert addresses into standard (user defined) formats, automatically recognize and extract URL or EMail addresses from input records, convert string output to upper, lower or mixed case (with intelligent handling of capitalization exceptions like McDonald, O Rourke WordPerfect etc.). In addition, ParseRat can convert numeric information, measurement units and perform arithmetic on incoming fields. The output can be saved as XML, fixed format, delimited, mail merge or dBase or copied to the clipboard. ParseRat offers an easy to use interface, that allows you to perform any of these operations without having to write any scripts or complicated configuration files - you can simple point an click and choose from the available options.
