NetGong is a network monitoring tool that enables you to keep an eye of servers and network devices and be alerted when problems arise. It supports notifications by sound, pop-up dialog, email and file execution. NetGong can monitor devices by ping or connect to a specific port via TCP/UDP. Overall a an easy-to-use monitor with mostly basic features - suitable for home users.
Pros: Easy-to-use; supports email notifications
Cons: Cannot run as Service; does not support SMS; no statistical graphs; no server responses logged; no network discovery or import
