bootable anti-virus scanner Kaspersky Rescue Disk is designed to scan, disinfect and restore infected operating systems. It should be used when it is impossible to boot the operating system due to a virus or malware infection. You will download an ISO file that needs to be burned to a bootable CD or DVD. Alternatively, you can also use the provided Rescue2USB tool to create a bootable USB drive from the ISO image. Once you've booted from the Kaspersky Rescue Disk, you will find a Linux desktop with icons to launch the Kaspersky scanner. After burning the ISO to a CD, I booted from the disc. The performance was slow, and scanning the whole hard drive would have taken a very long time. The option to scan only the boot sector and startup programs is much faster. This download is recommended if a computer will not boot, but if it can boot it would be better to use Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool, which is a similar standalone program that runs within Windows. showShow review details

You forgot to mention the registry editor and the anti-ransomeware utilities included. DO read the docs before using. Kaspersky has one of the best detection rates of all AVs On the downside, database updates are slooooow, their server must be on a dial-up... and the scan takes a long time.
