standalone e-mail program i.Scribe is a remarkably compact email program with an easy to use interface and some excellent features, including a split view of folders and items, signatures, drag and drop, preview and more. The program does not require an install and can be run from a floppy disk or USB stick, if needed. It allows you to manage email accounts, check your mail periodically, preview mail on the server, color code your messages, preview them on the server and more. i.Scribe can import existing mail from Outlook Express, Netscape, Outlook and Unix MBOX. Additional features include plug-in support, proxy support, ESMTP authentication, message templates, Bayesian spam filter and more. A very capable little email program with a ton of features, great as an alternative to the big guys, or as mobile solution on a USB drive.

First off, the free version doesn't allow you to use more than 1 email account, so this is worthless to me. (Who's only got one email address?) This may be portable to some extent, but it does make registry changes when you first run the installer. showShow review details

Like others, it's not for me and maybe good for someone else. It is very feature rich and loads very quickly. I couldn't import any email settings, etc... , OE, Outlook, or Livemail, don't know why, stated it didn't exist when I know they do, I have all 3. With some time, I'm sure I could figure it out. If you are looking for a very handy email handler, this is it. It's not pretty but works like a charm. showShow review details
