powerful hotkey utility HotkeyP is a small but powerful macro and hotkey utility that enables you to create a wide range of macro commands and keyboard shortcuts that can perform common tasks such as opening files, running programs, empty the recycle bin, reboot your PC, start the screensaver and much more. It includes direct support for a wide range of system commands that allow you to manipulate windows (opacity, on top, hide etc.), adjust your speaker volume, view free hard drive space, open/eject your CD drive, power-off your monitor and more. Advanced users can also use macro commands to insert text, send keys and simulate mouse actions, and many of these commands can be combined with dynamic variables. You can also choose to make a hotkey available from the tray icon, allowing you quick access to it with your mouse. HotkeyP does not look like much, but it has a ton of features under the gray hood. Standalone program, no installation.

Had a problem with hotkeys nog functioning any longer on Windows (XP/Vista, PC, Laptop, Netbook). This tiny app (with actually lots of features!) does the job very satisfactory. Pros: 1) No installation. Just unzip. 2) Doesn't demand too much of your PC when it is loading with your PC. 3) Ability to export/import the hotkey-file between computers. 4) Drag 'n drop. showShow review details

When I first got my laptop, a Dell, it had this little button near the top that called an all but useless (for me) help website. When I started clearing off all the bloatware that manufacturers put on new machines, that button stopped working. HotkeyP gave new functionality to that button with only a fraction of the bloatware's CPU/memory overhead. It's incredibly satisfying to personalize and customize function keys and key combos, and there's a lot of features on HotKeyP and they're easy to implement. If I had this for my Mac at work, I might not loathe it so much. :) I'm surprised to see this little gem isn't more popular. If you want your machine to be a little more efficient, a little more configurable, give HotKeyP a whirl. It doesn't even junk up your registry. My only complaint is that it won't open my external cd burner tray. Other than that, my compliments and thanks to the software author. showShow review details

You can control almost anything in Windows, almost any program (normal and global shortcuts are supported) by: multimedia keyboard, mouse, remote control, gamepad, tray icon and command line. - Some most important features are: Shutdown, Reboot, Lock computer, Disable key, Monitor power off, Desktop resolution, Change Wallpaper, Show text, Hide window, Opacity, Terminate process, Process priority, Next/Prev. task, Volume, Mute, Eject/Close CD/DVD, Paste text, Macro, Multi command, Commands list, Move mouse cursor, Simulation of mouse button press. - I don't use any other software for multimedia keyboard, mouse, remote control, gamepad, HotkeyP can replace them (and many other programs too) and all this with a minimal CPU/RAM usage. - Hint: I you don't want to read entire Help (or search manually), just choose a command (through [ showShow review details
