capture desktop video Free Screen To Video is a screen capture tool that enables you to record desktop activity and save it as video file in Flash (FLV,SWF), AVI or WMV format. You can choose to capture the entire screen, a selected area on your desktop or only a specific window, and also configure the video quality, including frame rate, video size and more. If you have a microphone connected to your PC, you can optionally include an audio narration as well. The program is easy to use, you just have to select the format that you want to record to, select a capture mode and click a button.

Well, setup went well, unchecked the ads so weren't installed, and it was done. From this point, I went to start it, it opened 3 instances in my task bar but would only crash and I got two different notifications through my firewall that it was trying to act as a server, not one but two different instances of this application. My rule of thumb, most apps should NOT have "act as server" rights given to them, it can access your system through a mere application by leaving this security hole. On that note, I don't even know if it has video sharing or uploading which may be a "possible" reason for this. What I do know is if I allow it to act as server, it will load up and I do use a VM to test when something is suspicious. If I don't allow it to act as server, it won't run at all. On this note, I can't recommend someone else to use it. It may use server settings legitimately but until I find out, I'm not recommending it personally. I say forget it, I'll use CamStudio which is great anyway or Screen to exe, both free, both very good screen recorders. showShow review details

I like the product. It's easy to use. The only drawbacks I have are (1) I wish they had included help files with their program. (2) It's not for the novice. You really need to have some sort of rudimentary knowledge of video creation, especially when compressing video. Other programs are a little more forgiving. showShow review details

Free Screen To Video works great. I was able to capture a 3D game. A few other software I tried didn't work very good for me (slow). You can save videos as AVI, WMV, FLV, and SWF. It says it can record the sound from mic. I like it. showShow review details
