FreeCal is a simple calendar that integrates with your desktop. It highlights the current date, holidays (US) and allows quick switching to previous or future months. The display can be customized in color and font, and also supports transparency. It does not offer any reminders or event entries, but advanced users can edit the .ini file to add custom, recurring events like birthdays, anniversaries etc.
