customizable desktop news ticker FeedRoller is a customizable desktop news ticker that displays the latest news from your choice of RSS and Twitter feeds. The ticker can be placed along the top or bottom of your screen and can auto-hide whenever your mouse moves near the ticker, allowing you to use all of your desktop space as usual. You can control and navigate the ticker with keyboard shortcuts and also switch to a temporary Do-Not-Disturb mode at any time. The default ticker is rather large, however FeedRoller can be customized in many aspect, including ticker font and size, color, speed, layout, transparency and more. Other features include OPML import/export and auto-suspend when full screen application or games are used. Portable application, no installation needed.

Very good news ticker and scrolling news feed 5 stars by JerryWD (Read all my 3 reviews)
I use a lot if different applications every day, and am always looking for tools that are better, lighter, faster and more reliable while also supplying me with better data. I also love the "news", which I regret. So I needed a scrolling, configurable news ticker that I could run on my pc that would let me feed my habit and also make a living doing my work. This product is ideal. I have great latitude on how I want the ticker configured, including the color (or transparency level) of the background so it matches my wall paper perfectly. A small thing but I appreciate that Sector Seven cared enough to include that functionality. Plus, light, clean code. If you need a news ticker scrolling newsfeed, try this first. Easy to use, good range of features. However, it does tend to hog the top of the screen. Some more discreet display options might be welcome. (Editor: You can change font sizes and display options and thereby reduce the size of the ticker significantly and/or blend it into your desktop.) showShow review details
