registry backup tool ERUNT (Emergency Recovery Utility NT) allows you to keep a complete backup of your registry and restore it when needed. The standard registry backup options that come with Windows back up most of the registry but not all of it. ERUNT however creates a complete backup set, including the Security hive and user related sections. ERUNT is easy to use and since it creates a full backup, there are no options or choices other than to select the location of the backup files. The backup set includes a small executable that will launch the registry restore if needed. Copyright Snapfiles.com

Fast, efficient registry backup 4 stars by pegasus65204 Mar 12, 2012
Just unzipped, configured, and ran it in Win7-64 Pro. I decided not to use the install. The default folder for AUTOBACKing the Registry is: C:WindowsERDNTAutoBack#Date# If AUTOBACK is launched in the StartUp folder, this will not work in Win7. The explanation is in ERUNTTweaksWin7.txt. I used an AUTOBACK Desktop icon with a shortcut key. This way I can do a quick backup anytime I want. The ERUNT README.TXT file states the backup will take "some time." I found this humorous because on my i7, SATA system, it took 2 seconds. The Win7 Registry is quite bloaty at 168 MB's. If you have a second drive or partition, I highly recommend you do NOT create your backups on the C: partition. If you get a BSOD, you can get file corruption. Save your backups on a different partition... ERUNT v1.1j was written in 2005, 4 years BEFORE Win7 was released. I do not recommend you use the included NTREGOPT utility. Other reviewers have complained they've had problems with NTREGOPT. The restore utility is called ERDNT. Since I just started using ERUNT, I have not yet had cause to use ERDNT. Hopefully, I won't but it's good to know I have a backed up Registry. show Review details
Best registry backup 5 stars by Airbourne Dec 05, 2011 (Read all my 9 reviews)
I lost my audio on .avi so I just reinstalled a few days back until the audio came back. This is also a breeze in PLACE OF A REG Cleaner. After opening new programs that are NOT what you want which can/will put entries in the REG. Just DELETE the Erunt folder for that day and go back and Reinstall the day before or a few days back and you get a new folder for the day your on. This is excellent after a few years and still going strong. Many grateful thanks to the publisher show Review details
