Vista bootloader modification tool EasyBCD provides an advanced GUI that makes it relatively easy to modify the Windows Vista bootloader, allowing you to add and remove entries to it for dual booting with other versions of Windows, as well as Linux/BSD, Mac OS X and other operating systems. Depending on your system configuration, creating a multi-boot system can be as simple as clicking a few buttons (but it may also require copying and editing of system files). The program can backup and restore your current boot settings, allowing you to undo any changes if you run into problems. Commercial use requires the purchase of a license.

Not for the novice 2 stars by toshfox379
Having used this to try and remove an old boot option and leave XP as the default. I selected to install the Easy BCD and after rebooting my operating system just is not there. I get a forever circle of going through the setup menu as it won't let me do a safe boot or boot from my windows install DVD. Tried to boot from USB to no avail. Look elsewhere for advice before trying this as it notifies you that changes cannot be saved when entering the setup menu once you have embarked down this path. showShow review details
Especially for newbie dual OS installers 5 stars by gimpguy (Read all my 654 reviews)
This is very handy for those who already know how to setup dual booting, eg... Linux, Windows... however, I found that most newbies, mainly those installing Linux side by side with Windows, really benefit from this. Anyone who has installed two OS's in dual, know how some can really get messy, not being able to get the boot back in order and left scratching their heads. This can definitely ease the pain. showShow review details
Nifty utility 5 stars by microMania
If you're looking for quality freeware, EasyBCD is as good as you can get. I found its many features from the backup of the MBR and BCD to the automated set up of Linux, BSD, and OS X dual-boots with Windows Vista to be quite amazing. The interface is very simple and easy-to-use, without any quirks or difficult-to-locate features. It's a very powerful utility, and of course, it's free, making its price/value infinitely awesome. It's a really good tool, very much recommended. Doesn't use much space (less than a MB!) and not much memory either (6MB on this machine). A must-have tool, really. showShow review details
