You can search multiple folder structures at once, and set criteria that identify the duplicates. You can choose to search for exact matches using CRC comparison or use the file name, size and date as criteria. The program offers extended support for music files, allowing you to use the ID tag information (artist, title, album) to identify duplicate tracks. The results are grouped in a list and a selection assistant enables you to quickly select files based on age, audio quality, location and other aspects.

I give this program high marks. I was able to start using it right away, without a whole lot of fighting the interface. It found the dupes, offered to help my way through the selection process, and handily got rid of the unwanted files. Simple and effective. Nice job. showShow review details

I was looking specifically for an app that is able to find duplicate songs, even when they are multiple file formats or bitrates or file names. "Duplicate Cleaner" found them. And, the Selection Assistant makes it super easy to mass- select files to delete by filtering by anything - part of file names, extensions, prioritize certain paths, etc. All in all, this program does exactly what I needed, and I`ve removed over 10GB of annoying duplicate songs. showShow review details

I have the data management sensibilities of a bag lady AND I'm a pack rat to boot. I tried other duplicate cleaners and they all had the same problem: They dump the duplicate information on you in a mountain, then expect you to make heads or tails of it. Duplicate Cleaner approaches the problem of multiple files in multiple directories in a clear methodical way. I picked up on how to use it in no time, and in such a way that I felt confident that I knew exactly what I was doing (and thus not deleting files I wanted to keep). It doesn't seem to have bells and whistles, but I appreciate the KISS model. Good software should do one thing and do it very well. Duplicate Cleaner fits the bill. showShow review details
