DriveSentry is a firewall for your hard drive(s) and removable storage devices that allows you to control which programs can have access to your drives. You can create application specific rules that control the file types, folders and registry keys that the application can access. If any other program tries to access your protected files, you will be prompted with a warning and have the option to allow or block the action. DriveSentry is not designed to replace your anti-virus or anti-spyware software, but to compliment them by providing additional protection that can help you detect newly emerging threats. In addition to folders and files, DriveSentry can protect various system settings, Internet settings and startup programs. The program also includes an online advisor that can retrieve user recommendations on a specific program from a growing online database as well as a malware scanner.
