on-the-fly data encryption DriveCrypt enables you to create secure storage areas on your PC, Notebook or removable USB drive. The containers will act as virtual drives and can be accessed like any other drive letter. DriveCrypt transparently encrypts and decrypts files within the secure containers whenever you access them - once unmounted the drive(s) will become invisible. Other features include steganographic hiding of files, fast hotkey control, automatic locking, password sniffing protection and more. In addition to encrypted containers or virtual drives, DriveCrypt can also encrypt entire hard drive partitions, however this feature is disabled in the trial version. The program secures your data with industry standard encryption methods, including 1344-bit Military Strength Encryption.

I am a DriveCrypt user. Is easy to use and it secures very well your sensitive data. This software is giving you the possibility of using up to 4 passwords for each encrypted volume. There are some other feature to improve the security such as: "The Red Low Level Message Screen" (you can avoid the possibility of keyboard messages, between Windows and the application, being copied by another program or process or sniffer), "The Lockout Console" function which allows you to block the console access to your computer, whenever you need to leave it alone for a while and you can use different hardware devices to improve the security, in addition to the pass phrase used. The Traveller Mode is also a excellent feature, it allows you to access containers without having to permanently install DC on the relevant Windows system of a host PC. I have used dc for three or four years now. Two weeks ago, I needed to transfer one of my licenses from my laptop to my second desktop. You would not believe the problems I have had with their support or (no support). I emailed them over 20 times trying to answer their questions, most of them asked several times. They had no concept of transferring, only wanted me to purchase another license.... I got so upset with the whole problem, I removed all of their volumes from my disc's and downloaded a program called "TrueCrypt". It is a free program, and I am now using it without any problems and I am happy with the program. DriveCrypt is an ok program, but their support stinks... You have to pay for the program and dont expect any help... You are on your own...... showShow review details
