database viewer and editor CDBF is a powerful database viewer and editor that lets you access databases directly without programming via the familiar Windows interface. It offers everything you need for working with database files as well as integrated viewing and editing from the same window - just click on a field you want to modify and make the changes. You can also perform database-wide operations like case conversions, deletion of duplicate records and more. Filtering the view can be easily done by selecting a field and setting it as a filter criteria. CDBF supports all kinds of DBF files, including dBase III, dBase IV, FoxPro, Visual FoxPro and their memo fields. You can export the database tables to text files, DBF files, MS Excel format (.xls), Clipper and FoxPro source files (.prg) and SQL Server scripts (.sql). Many of CDBF features are implemented via the flexible plugins system, so the developers can easily add new functionality by simply placing their DLLs into the CDBF folder. Additional features include ability to edit memo-fields, print support, search and replace, automatic OEM/ANSI character set detection, exporting, deleting, recalling, summing and more.

Trial Limitations: You have to restart the program every ten minutes.

I work on restaurant POS systems (Point of Sale) for a 500+ location restaurant chain. These systems rely heavily on DBF files between the backoffice computer and the register terminals. CDBF is the only DBF edit/viewer that has the power and flexibility to automate and simplify any tasks when you need to access the files directly. No other DBF editor comes close, and I've tried many of them. The interface is clean and easy, the automation features, and filters make using this program a dream. I highly recommend this program, and Whitetowns's other programs are just as high of quality. showShow review details

I'd like to recommend this tool for everyone who needs to do some quick on-the-fly editing of *.dbf-files. All advertised features are implemented very cleverly and thoughtfully and work reliably - this includes the support for Visual Foxpro files and their Memo fields - something you might expect from similar competing programs, but may not get in the end. With CDBF if works perfectly. Very convenient is the simultaneous view of linked databases. CDBF is quite powerful and should cover all the needs you might have. Very easy to use, even for non-experts. It can really save you hours of dull work. I have been using it for about 30h now and it has been a great help. No Cons in my opinion. The online help is sufficient as it is, but you are also pointed at some demo programs that will help you with an easy start when you buy CDBF. Given the fact that novice users may want to try this, some added general words about dbf files would be helpful, maybe. Check the website! showShow review details
