unique personal finance manager Budget is a unique personal finance manager that uses an envelope system to help you manage your income and expenses. Unlike traditional finance managers that usually use a statement-style display, Budget uses virtual envelopes that allow you to allocate money to specific expenses (mortgage, car payment, utilities etc.), and shows you how much money is left over after those expenses. Instead of showing you how much money you have in your account, it lets you visualize how much money you have left to spend. Despite the simple concept, the program includes a variety of advanced features that let you balance your checkbook, record payments by check, debit or credit card and more. Budget can handle multiple bank accounts and income sources, and import account data from QIF files. If you are looking for an easy way to visually manage your finances without having to deal with complicated account management products, you should definitely give Budget a try.

Having read the excellent review on Snapfiles I downloaded and trialled this software. It works great and is a fresh and original take on personal finance software. In fact I was about to buy it, until I read about the registration procedures on their website. The registration code they give you expires after a period of time. So if like me you regularly change your IT kit, you have to hope they are still trading when yo want to reinstall, re-download the software and ask them for a new key. I understand they want to stop piracy, but I use a lot of shareware and this is way over the top! What a shame showShow review details
The software developer responded to this review on Aug 14, 2009: Purchasing Budget via our reseller eSellerate provides you with a code that does not expire. The only time you get a code directly from us that does expire is if there is some problem with the code you get from eSellerate (very rare) or if, you are running the 64 Bit version of Vista. The codes we provide do expire after a period of time if they haven`t been entered into the software. Once entered they are good forever on that machine unless you rebuild your hard drive or get a new computer. You can purchase Budget and try the code you receive from eSellerate. If it works for you all is well. If not, and you don t want one of our codes we will refund the full purchase price under our 60 day unconditional money back guarantee. Ron

In order to manage money you need to know where it will come from, what you have done with it in the past and what you are planning to do with the money you will get. Budget is the best piece of software I have seen to do the last piece. On simply opening the software you know where you are for the month money wise and you can make decisions as to want you want and can do with what you have and whether or not you are on track. showShow review details

I would not recommend software this visually unappealing. It works 'ok' but the appearance detracts from the usage so much it is not worth it. This is the OSX/Windows Vista era.. people expect better. showShow review details
