Budget is a unique personal finance manager that uses an envelope system to help you manage your income and expenses. Unlike traditional finance managers that usually use a statement-style display, Budget uses virtual envelopes that allow you to allocate money to specific expenses (mortgage, car payment, utilities etc.), and shows you how much money is left over after those expenses. Instead of showing you how much money you have in your account, it lets you visualize how much money you have left to spend. Despite the simple concept, the program includes a variety of advanced features that let you balance your checkbook, record payments by check, debit or credit card and more. It can handle multiple bank accounts and income sources, and import account data from QIF files.
