file and folder comparison Beyond Compare is an advanced directory and file comparison utility that (among other things) allows you to synchronize files between laptop and PC, home and office, or any other two locations. You can compare any two directory trees side-by-side with mismatches automatically highlighted and several filter options to further investigate the differences. When you are comparing text based files, the files are shown side-by-side and the differences are highlighted, so that they are easy to spot. In addition to folders and text files, the program can also compare images and MP3 files as well as other binary files. You can even use Beyond Compare to perform FTP synchronizations, compare and merge source code changes, create snapshots and more. I'm a software developer and I've been using Beyond Compare for a number of years to merge and validate different program versions. Beyond Compare is quite simply exceptional. It is the only piece of software that I've ever used, where I can't easily see a way to improve it. It's intuitive, flexible, very easy to use and immensely powerful. This is by far the best file comparison software that I have ever used. Not only does it compare my code but it also syncs my raw log files from my web server. Each day I have Beyond Compare download my server raw log files for analysis. showShow review details
