nature soundscape player Aura is a simple program that runs in the system tray and enhances your work environment with a relaxing forest soundscape. You can choose between a daytime and nighttime forest environment and also customize the frequency of acoustic elements that are part of the forest environment (birds, wind, rain etc.). Other features include automatic muting based on a set time, as well as a basic alarm function.

This is a nifty little sound app and I for one did find it fairly relaxing. As a matter of fact I'm playing it right now and it doesn't seem to affect anything else running so that's a plus. It could have a few more options and definitely more sounds, perhaps some sound tweaking etc... but all in all, it's very nice and very free. If you want sounds of nature, you got it. If you don't like nature sounds like rain falling and such, you may not like this app although, you can grab sounds from your sound folder so if you prefer something else, you could simply use that. There are many fans of New Age music, whale sounds, the sounds of the sea etc. I am not one of them. However, this is a very nice program: it brings a relaxing environment of nature sounds in your computer experience. The sounds can be edited (add birds, frogs, etc) and it can automatically change from day to night sounds if wanted. I find it pleasant to listen to if I need to work long hours on a project.
