find duplicate files AllDup enables you to find duplicate files across one or more folders or drives. You can choose to match files by size, name, date, attributes and byte-by-byte content comparison. You can also configure a variety of settings to exclude certain file types or folders from the search. AllDup will then scan the selected folders and produce a list of all duplicate files that were found. The list is organized into groups, which makes it easy to manage the results and process the files. You can manually select the files that you consider to be duplicates, or you can use the smart select options that allows you to automatically select files based on their date or folder location. The duplicate files can be processed in several different ways, you can choose to delete them, move or copy them to a different folder, or rename them in their current location. Other features include export of search results, custom search profiles, built-in file preview, support for ID3 tags, and more.

This dup search software has near every setting you can think of and then some. It may be a bit extreme for some users with all the settings so I gave it a 4 star for this reason, not a 5, interface could have better grouping. That said, it would be better to ask what this dup search CAN'T do? It will find files byte by byte, by name, by size, etc... and believe me, far too many options for me to list here. It was dead on at finding my .MP3 dup files, even those with changed name, extension, etc... but you have to set the search options correctly. This is not a basic dup finder, so if you use it, be prepared for all sorts of options. It will look at and break down to the smallest files of any folder or application which would be overboard so I set it to match by less criteria. I've only scratched the surface of using this. There are options for scanning zip or rar, you can exclude numerous file types, include many file types, basically, you can "after getting used to the interface" fine tune your search to what you want. I think with some interface work, this will be one of the best dup finders out there. Intense options yes, but get used to it, you have one fine application. showShow review details

Works very well for finding exact duplicate files, but the selection of folders for searches is cumbersome, as is file type filter. This program appears to be unable to identify duplicate songs (song, artist, album) if the file names or file type are different. showShow review details
