<title>Very handy extra to the default Adobe Reader (PDF-XChange Viewer)</title>
<description>User opinion: PDF-XChange Viewer adds stuff to pdf-reading/editing that should be built into the Adobe Reader by default. For free!
E.g. highlighting portions/words in big chunks of text and saving that to the pdf-file immediately. Students and others who want to mark the essentials will be very satisfied with that feature!

+ lots of other possibilities (haven#039;t tried out all of them yet)

<title>Awesome (NetWorx)</title>
<description>User opinion: A great program and so easy to setup and use. Just watch the notifications, can set up some funny loops with explorer if not quite right. If you want to monitor your internet and/or LAN use this is the best I could find.

<title>It#039;s Microsoft and slow (Microsoft Security Essentials XP)</title>
<description>User opinion: Coming from Microsoft I wasn#039;t surprised to find that this program slows my PC to a crawl..I couldn#039;t get it off my system fast enough

<title>Good results all round (Registry Life)</title>
<description>User opinion: Worked well on my XP SP2 laptop. Registry results found more than the next best Free app I used before. Preboot optimization works well. The interface is very clear and easy to use. It backs up before cleaning so if any issues happen you can restore. However, all was fine after cleaning. My laptop certainly booted a little quicker. Thanks to the developer. This is an App I will certainly use from now on.

<title>Feature-rich and intuitive (RJ TextEd)</title>
<description>User opinion: This editor is packed with features and has a well designed interface. Appears as good or better than many of the other more well known editors. Nice job by the developer.

<title>Almost perfect (Revo Uninstaller)</title>
<description>User opinion: This tool saved me my PC many times when the others failed.
It#039;s under continuous development and is getting better. But it is perfect even now all it needs a little care deleting registry keys. But it doesn#039;t switch in automatic mode and gives information and time enough to make the right decision.

Capable of installing programs, which comes without their own uninstaller and couldn#039;t be removed without a tool like this.

<title>Saved my sanity :) (MjM Free Photo Recovery Software)</title>
<description>User opinion: I thought I#039;d lost the pictures from my son#039;s first birthday party until my Uncle told me about this software. It brought back every picture that had ever been taken on that memory card! I#039;ve already recommended this to several people who have an itchy delete finger like I do :)

<title>Great little player (Screamer Radio)</title>
<description>User opinion: I tried a few radio players and this was the best. Lightweight, no need to install, finds most (but not all) of the stations I wanted, fast to run, connect and start playing. The interface is basic but uncomplicated. Recommended.

<title>Simple, yet complete (AbiWord)</title>
<description>User opinion: I admit I don#039;t use word processors much - I can usually do with something as simple as Notepad, even when I#039;m translating documents.

I like the non-cluttered menus and their organization, getting to the function you need couldn#039;t be easier. Also you will find in the menus just the right tools and actions you would have thought of.

A close friend who is a total beginner in what concerns computers was having troubles in doing a paper for the university with another widely used office suite, and she only needed to add footnotes. I recommended Abi to her and she has never needed anything else since. Surprisingly, I didn#039;t have to explain her how to use it.

I believe that AbiWord has to offer enough features to satisfy virtually everyone. For spreadsheets, another application that#039;s also part of the Gnome desktop and is available for Windows too is Gnumeric.

AbiWord is my word processor of choice. MS Word compatible!

<title>The best free one out there (File Shredder)</title>
<description>User opinion: This Is By Far The Best File Shredder Out There. I Have Tried Just About All The Free Files Shredders. But I Keep Coming Back To This One As I Find That The Other Ones Don#039;t Compare To This One.

<title>Good program worked for me (WinSock XP Fix)</title>
<description>User opinion: Good Program. Fixed my connection problems with Firefox on dial-up connection. It took forever to establish a connection. Also, pages on eBay wouldn#039;t fully load. Partial loading and then hang for minutes. Had to create a System Restore point before running this program because the registry backup feature wouldn#039;t work for me. Did that, ran program, and Firefox connects right away again. Ebay pages load completely. I think Adaware and Spybot change too many settings when you delete what they find and this screws up your connection and settings. This program fixed my connection. I#039;m running Windows XP SP3, Firefox 3.0.13. (FF 3.5 sucks)

<title>The best! (RJ TextEd)</title>
<description>User opinion: Good enough to make this your default text and html editor. It has a great look and feel without being overwhelming. With a spell check, a file explorer and a preview for web pages, (and so much more), it#039;s all you need. I haven#039;t found one better! I tried really hard to find at least one thing wrong with it, to no avail. I can#039;t say enough good things, so I#039;ll just say, get it, you#039;ll really like it!

<title>A bit confusing (Download Accelerator Plus)</title>
<description>User opinion: A bit confusing, not as easy or understandable to use as others. However, you can watch online videos in a much more accelerated speed. That#039;s the positive I could see. I had the program for about half an hour, it didn#039;t do what I needed it to do, so I uninstalled it.

<title>A perfect launcher ! (sTabLauncher)</title>
<description>User opinion: I#039;ve always wanted to get rid of the clumsy desktop and the bunch of shortcuts on it, but every application launcher I#039;ve found before turned out to have many faults.

Ideally, an application launcher should be very customizable, light on resources and fast, look at least nice and have a minimalistic user interface, change shortcut groups by category dynamically (on mouse move over tab) and maybe automatically import common applications from the existing installations.

I imagined an application launcher like this (in my imagination it was round and looked like a helm and when it was turned it would display a different set of shortcuts), but they were all far from having most of these features. sTabLauncher has all of them and I can#039;t believe I#039;ve found it and it#039;s free.

<title>Conflicting with OpenOffice (AbiWord)</title>
<description>User opinion: I tried almost every version of Abiword, in Windows
as well as in Linux. And always there was that nasty
incompatibility with OpenOffice. Abi cannot handle
docs from OO with pictures, tables, etc.
Abi may be nice for simple docs but I#039;ll stick to
OO.

<title>Very simple (Paint.NET)</title>
<description>User opinion: This program has a small memory footprint and works quickly. Easy to use as well. However, its features lack something. I liked the Pencil sketch feature the most, but found the clone stamp, lasso, the rest of the filters and some of the adjustments lacking in quality found even in other freeware. I would only recommend this to a home user not a serious photographer or artist.

<title>Awesome movie edit (SubMagic)</title>
<description>User opinion: Reading the above posts, which are old now, a few things, first, for everything this has to offer, it#039;s not going to be Ccleaner and a one click method, it#039;s going to be complicated to an extent. I felt it was actually fairly easy to work around and figure out. Nag screen? Most nag screens cannot be disabled, I don#039;t feel this was quot;in my opinionquot; a nag screen as those that are constantly popping up, especially for donations for such a great freeware. Calling home? Most do for updates, it#039;s not an intrusion at all, I checked personally. I found a fair amount of documentation on the internet to use this when I got stuck, however, as I progress, I will likely make a tut for this great software. My movies will now have great additions that they were lacking prior. I say excellent work to the author! And thank you for this great software!

<title>Microsoft slow essentials (Microsoft Security Essentials XP)</title>
<description>User opinion: Having read a good review, of Microsoft Security Essentials in a computer mag., I thought I would add this extra layer of security to my PC. Downloading and installation of MSE presented no issues. Once installed successfully, there were no conflicts with other programs. However, it became instantly apparent that it slowed my PC down, quite considerably, in terms of opening/closing programs and general overall functioning. On the first occasion of #039;Shutting Down#039; and #039;Rebooting#039; my PC, MSE failed to load at #039;StartUp#039;, which didn#039;t exactly impress! I assess software very quickly and in view of system slowness and failure to load on #039;StartUp#039;, this software was uninstalled as quickly as it was installed on my PC. I, personally, believe that while there is nothing essentially quot;wrongquot; with MSE, there is a real good range of #039;Freebies#039; #039;out there#039; to provide good layers of protection, as suitable alternatives.

<title>Wonderful little utility (Duplicate File Finder)</title>
<description>User opinion: Dude this is a great little application; thanks so much.
Couple of things to consider maybe is that the user doesn#039;t know which of the duplicate files will be deleted and which will be saved when the user hits #039;delete all file.#039; Is there a way to indicate which file will be deleted?
Thanks again.

<title>Give this one a go!! (FairStars CD Ripper)</title>
<description>User opinion: I#039;ve tried loads of rippers and this one is definitely my favorite. It has an easy to use interface, with track naming and output folder format options i.e, tracks inside album folder inside artist folder. You can set this output to whatever you want. Very nice little program!
