Starting with 2.6 version UDC includes a set of profiles which help achieve typical goals a user may have. E.g.: printing a web-page in JPEG format, printing a document in TIFF format, printing a drawing in TIFF format etc. The list of included profiles is available through UDC settings.
`Imaging for Windows` 95` and `Imaging for Windows NT4` didn` t display 8 bit TIFF files with LZW compression correctly. This bug was caused by the fact that Imaging doesn` t support TIFF-LZW with predictors. 2.6 version disables predictor when LZW compression takes place. Now Imaging displays such files correctly.
Only Administrator can install drivers. A check of user` s rights is added before the installation begins.
For developers:
All the settings are stored inside UDC, so that one could change them with the help of `DocumentProperties(,,,,,DM_IN_BUFFER)` function, and then recall for testing, displaying or using with the help of `DocumentProperties(,,,,,DM_OUT_BUFFER)` function.
SDK is added so that you could use UDC from a program created in VB
Fixed bugs:
An error occurred when trying to install UDC over its previous version, if the previous version was deleted and the computer was not restarted. Fixed.
When trying to print 2-page documents from MS Word 2000 using default profile, default image viewer wasn` t launched. Fixed.
If the folder for saved images was not specified in UDC settings under Win` 95, UDC would save the images to `C:``` path instead of temporary files folder. Fixed.
When printing under Windows NT4 in JPEG and GIF formats, the documents woud stuck in Print queue in Spooling condition, the applications which sent the document to printer would ` buzz` , default image viewer (IE) would not open. Fixed.
An error occurred under Windows 95/98, if ` paper` size was specified in pixels and not in inches. Fixed.
Once `Browse` button was pressed, network drives would not show up in Browse window. Fixed.
