version 4.1.1609 - posted on May 20, 2004
- FIXED Importing using the same hostname/prettyname as the entry used as template cause Servers Alive to get in a loop.
ADDED The IMPORT screen now shows a tooltip with the description of the check. Handy when several entries have the same prettyname.
FIXED Display of the alert (mostly the COMMAND TO EXECUTE) didn t show the " correctly.
FIXED It s now possible to use # within the alert messages (and subjects)
FIXED Quotes within messages/commands were correctly saved/displayed but not correctly converted when really using them.
FIXED (only in the ENTERPRISE edition) The alerting schedule didn t always work correctly.
FIXED Using a PERSON/TEAM with a ( or ) or { or } within the name caused the alert not to display correctly and not to be send correctly either.
FIXED Highencryption can now be turned on and off. Also more error checking is added to the encryption routines.
FIXED Setting an entry first/last in subgroup could cause an subscripted out of range error.
FIXED An empty proxy server password in combination with high encryption generated a runtime error.
FIXED Nastly little typo made the SQL 6.5 based checks fail all the time. Should be working fine now.
FIXED The SEND DIRECT option for the SMTP mail sending could fail without a proper error logging when the DNS server wasn t able to give a valid response when querying it for an MX record.
ADDED The default encryption for storing passwords within the hostfile (and registry) as a very weak encryption (protection of the file on OS level is still very usefull!). You can now change the encryption from the SETUP-GENERAL-STARTUP. The change is a one-way one-time change.
FIXED Within the diskspace check it was possible to get a situation were Servers Alive would flag an entry as being down without giving a reason for it.
version 4.1.1591 - posted on Mar 05, 2004

version 4.1.1587 - posted on Feb 28, 2004
- FIXED Auto-Refresh option for the built-in webserver was not saved correctly.
FIXED SNPP/SMPP/ICQ alerts were still executed even if within the SETUP they were disabled.
ADDED If you want to use a % sign within the alerts you would often be blocked by the fact that the % is used for the internal vars and as such converted to something else, with {25} you can have a % within your alerts now.
FIXED In some situations the commandline entered as external check (errorlevel) was badly loaded from the hostfile (causing other parameters of the check the be badly loaded too).
FIXED SNPP level one alert revised (needed due to undocumented changes in the control we were using)
FIXED In some situations the URL Stream checks didn t show a the down status within the interface and as such alerts didn t fire either.
FIXED Updated SMPP component. Component had some problems on Japanese OS versions.
FIXED Additional modem/line reset done when using TAPI as port for the numeric paging, seems to make numeric paging work better.
FIXED If a alert contains a newline within the message or subject that was not entered as {Od}{oa} but as a real enter (within the interface) then the loading of the resulting hostfile failed, resulting in the lost of alerting entries. This fix should make sure that the system can t get into such a situation anymore, it will however not fix it for existing alerts that already have the problem.
FIXED If for some reason the WHEN part of an alert is empty (within the hostfile), we will replace this by "When 1 times down and back up too". This should solve more of the problems with "empty" lines in the alerts screen.
FIXED Username and password for the read-only access to the telnet server were inverted.
ADDED The list of external COM checks is now ordered (alphabetically)
FIXED The "command" alert didn t work correctly.
FIXED In some situations the process check would not give a real DOWN status while it should be, from an interface point of view all would look normal, but the alerts didn t fire correctly due to it.
FIXED The cycle start time was not update when forcing the start of a cycle via the UPDATE button
ADDED %w contains the IP address of the entry (if known due to the test)
ADDED contains the IP address of the entry (if known due to the test)
ADDED The rename group function will show the name of the group so you can edit this name.
version 4.1.1567 - posted on Jan 23, 2004

version 4.0.1376 - posted on Mar 29, 2003
- Added For the SNPP sending you can select (within the SETUP) the connection level. (1376)
Added All DB logging can also use UDL files. Enter the path to the UDL file as connection string. UDL files are using OLEDB providers, they tend to leak less memory then ODBC drivers. In order to create a UDL file, open Notepad and save an empty file as .UDL. Then double clicking this .UDL file will open the `Data Link Properties` screen, in which you can configure the UDL connection. (1376)
Updated All DB logging will be done differently, the connections to the remote dbs are kept open. This will decrease the memory usage of Servers Alive. (1375)
Added Several updated to the MMS check, in order to be more like the `discovered` (since it` s undocumented) MMS protocol. Also the returned error will be shown.
Fixed If the debuglog was to a database and the database was not available you could get into a loop. The open_database errors will only be logged to the textfile debuglog. (1365)
Fixed Interchange file generation caused problems with empty hostIds. (1362)
Fixed Alert when x% of the last y checks are down didn` t work correctly, due to a typo within the sources (1360)
Added Sound alert can have a different sound for the `when back up` option (1360)
Added The sa_remark field will load/save correctly even with a # in it. (1359)

- Fixed Creation of the interchange table used the wrong field definition
Added More SNPP error trapping.
Fixed The last part of the External COM parameter wasn` t parsed correctly.
Added Creation and logging of the interchange file to a DB had problems with the ID field. (we also renamed the field to HostID)
Added SNMP SET and SNMP TRAP SENDING can now within the `object value` use the normals variables (as within the SMTP mails for example)
Fixed SNMP SET alert didn` t work properly in some cases
Fixed The disconnection of the TCP checks is done differently.
Fixed Several protocol definition problems are changed within the installer

- Fixed In some situations the built-webserver no longer served pages after a logoff (when running as service)
Fixed Drag & drop of entry did change the dependency but not the group
Fixed Stats for the PING checks stayed on 0.
Fixed Adding or editing an alert could generate a runtime error 5 when `applying` a change in the WHEN part.
Fixed SMS message sending will default to `%p is %s` when no message is entered.
Fixed Statistical logging path wasn` t save to the registry.
version 4.0.1310 - posted on Feb 21, 2003
- Fixed Updated the FTP control. It will now upload to the default directory if the remote name given in SA doesn` t contain a /
Fixed Import on a service restart alert didn` t import the name of the service/host. An alert of a restart was created but didn` t include the correct info.
Fixed Winpopup sending bug on some systems.
Fixed Winpopup will default to the `%p is %s` as message if non is entered

Fixed Teams with more then 1 person didn` t work correctly when using within the alerts.
Fixed SNMP timeout error was logged as an SNMP SET timeout error instead of an SNMP GET timeout error
Fixed `Send multiple messages per call` didn` t show the correct value (checked/unchecked) within the SETUP.
version 4.0.1302 - posted on Feb 16, 2003
- Changed
If the OID starts with a . (like in most SNMP managers) Servers Alive will assume without the . (since that` s how SA wants the OID)
Fixed
The SNMP check sometimes gives a wrong status if the SNMP enabled device is no longer responding to SNMP requests. Mostly this problem is due to a timing issue within SA (were the applications code reacts quicker then the SNMP control timeout event)
Fixed
When the SA service was stopped and the eventlog was full SA generated an error.
