This shows you how often PDF Explorer was updated with us over the past few months. Whenever available, we also include additional information for each update (new features, changes etc.).

- Now PDF Explorer is also a CHM Explorer. The same functionalities now extended to this popular file format, with internal CHM reader, text and image extractor.
Quick Image OCR to assist the Quick Info Edit mode. Extract metadata even if raw image only PDFs.
Use the grid layout editor to select what file types, PDF/CHM, to show in grid.
The web server can now execute CGI/ISAPI applications and scripts. Popular script languages as PHP, Perl, Python, and CGI, .exe or .dll, applications can now be used to extend the web server possibilities.
Increased web server access security with HTTPS protocol. To help configuration, added a wizard to generate auto-signed SSL certificates or SSL certificates requests.
Possibility to upload files using the web server interface.
Web server accesses can now be logged to a file, ECLF format, with automatic log file rotation.
The Info Edit batch tool can now access any of the info fields contents to compose the new field content, with search and replace feature too.
Possibility to add interface to external applications/scripts from the tools menu. Selected grid files can be passed as parameters.
The image extractor can now maintain, without reencode, the internal image file format.
PNG and GIF image file formats added to the possibilities of the image extractor encoder.
Drag and Drop of metadata text into the info edit tool, even from external application.
A new quick info edit assistant, the Rename On Metadata Change. File is automatically renamed using the pre-configured rule, when metadata edited.
Functionality to manually execute the task automation Folders task on selected files.
The automatic updates can now use proxy servers for Internet access.
PDF Explorer command line now accept PDF files. Submitted files are automatically indexed and show on grid at startup. Useful to use with the Shell OpenWith or SendTo functionalities. Command line can also be used to start the .csv import wizard. Same functionality when dropping these files types in the program interface itself.
The lite running mode can now auto start the web server and launch the web browser at startup.
As usual, includes also many more small improvements and bug fixes.

- Two new PDF tools:
Insert/Append Pages - Used to insert pdf pages/documents into other documents specifying insertion point and using powerful merge rule expressions to specify pages to insert
Stamp/Watermark - Used to stamp pdf documents pages with text, images and geometric shapes. Support templates and has various composition tools to create the overall stamp using the supported stamp objects.
The merge/rearrange tool has now an option to do the merge sequencing thru the documents in the list.
The EditInfoFields batch tool can now append the new metadata to the one already existent in the document.
Added the possibility to the rename batch tool to use all the text metadata fields as source to create the new file name.
Important bugs discovered in the merge/rearrange tool that produced invalid files or fault pages have been fixed.
As usual, include many more bug fixes and several small enhancements.

Bookmarks now persist between running sessions and with the new bookmark manager we can rename, delete and change order of the bookmarks.
The PDF text viewer has now the capability to save all the document text to a text file. Copy to Clipboard tool button is also available to copy current page text.
This version introduce a mechanism to catch unhandled exceptions, producing error reports, very useful to complement bug report communications to software developer.
Added tool button to open/close the InGridPreview panel.
The grid layout functions are now also accessible from the Edit menu.
The PDFE Lite running mode can now be launched from network places, without the need to map first that place to a system drive letter.
An important bug, present in the Merge/Rearrange pages tool, that in some situations produce broken files is now fixed. If some of you continue to get broken files with the merge tool, please, e-mail to me the original files used in the merge.
All the interface translation has been validated, and corrected, to fix some bugs tacked to errors present in some of them.
As usual, include many more bug fixes and some more small enhancements.
