HTMLZip is a compression utility for web pages. Unlike most other compression tools, it does not just remove certain characters and empty spaces, but actually compresses the file, using Java technology. The page is self extracting be automatically decompressed by any web browser. Compression results can reduce the file size by up to 70% (We tested it on our WA main page and received 60% reduction). The program will also make the source code of the page completely unreadable. While the file size reduction results are excellent, unfortunately there is no way of decompressing the file for later editing, once compressed, you cannot edit the source anymore - therefore it is recommended to keep an uncompressed copy for later editing purpose.

IE WebDeveloper (formerly IE DOM Inspector) is an add-in for Internet Explorer that allows you to view, traverse, and dynamically update that HTML DOM directly in the browser window. It can analyze web pages in real-time and presents the page elements in a tree-style view, that allows you to inspect style sheets, java scripts, forms and more. IE WebDeveloper can also highlight selected elements interactively in the browser, making it easy to locate the code in the actual web page.

AdesClrPicker allows you to pick and collect color values from anywhere on your screen and save them to a custom color library from where you can copy the color code to the clipboard. The program also stores the last 10 color values and makes them accessible from the tray menu. AdesClrPicker can pick HTML, RGB, VB, C++ and Delphi color codes and supports export to Adobe Photoshop.

Web Chart Creator enables web developers to create interactive 3D charts, based on data from your database. The program provides a Windows interface that allows you to design the chart and specify the SQL query to be used. It can accept variable input from the URL query string and outputs the charts in GIF format. Once you have designed the chart, you can save the configuration and upload it along with a CGI executable to your web server. The configuration options only provide basic documentation, however, once you get a hang of it, you can easily add dynamic charts to your site. Requires some understanding of database connectivity and SQL queries.

Acunetix Web Vulnerability Scanner scans a web site and presents you view a report from a hacker`s point of view, highlighting potential security problems with your web applications due to SQL injection, cross site scripting other web attacks. It also checks password strength on authentication pages, audits shopping carts, tests for buffer overflows and more. The results are presented in a structured report. This demo version can only scan the Acunetix test site, so it cannot be used for your own testing, but allows you to preview the functionalities.

SourceShield is a website encryption tool, that enables you to prevent casual stealing of your source code and images. It uses JavaScript to encrypt your source, so that it is unusable to the human eye, but will work fine with any browser that supports JavaScript. You can choose to protect the entire page or only portions of it, and also disable right-clicking, page printing, text selection and several other user actions. Furthermore, you can check for a valid referrer and restrict the pages to certain browsers (Opera, IE, Netscape). The program creates backups of your original files, so you can restore them later if needed. As with any source encryption software, the protection only prevents casual attempts, and can be bypassed by a determined user.

Web Image Protector enables you to protect your website images from being easily saved or harvested by users. It modifies the HTML source and splits your images into multiple parts, then re-assembles them using CSS and tables. The resulting images will display exactly like your originals, but cannot be saved as complete image files. You can choose to split and protect all images, or limit it by image dimension (e.g only large images) and file type. In addition, the program also inserts Java Script to prevent the user from using the PrintScreen or Print command. Your original HTML files and images are kept in a backup container, and can be restored anytime. Web Image Protector can be very effective to prevent casual image theft, however a determined user will still be able to copy anything that is displayed on the screen by using a screen capture software, which of course involves a lot more effort.

WonderWebWare HTML Converter is a simple tool that enables web developers to quickly convert HTML code so that it can be used within scripts. Amara Flash Menu Maker allows you to create a Flash menu for your web site fast and easily. You can choose from a scrolling menu with sub menus, customize the size and colors and also add optional sound effects for mouseover actions and alpha blending. The program does not require any Flash or programming skills, and includes several button styles (3D, glossy, 2D, flat etc.) to get you started. Furthermore, you can import your own background picture, background music, use custom fonts and more. Amara Flash Menu Maker currently only offers one style of menu (horizontal). The program is fairly easy to use, however does not include any documentation.

Web Browser Spell Check is a spell checker that can be implemented in any web site design. It is client based, so there is no software to install on the web server and it can be used in any server environment. The program uses ActiveX technology to launch MS Word s spell checking features on the visitor s computer. Big disadvantage for internet usage is that it will not work at all, unless the visitor has Office 97 or later installed. It will be useful however in a corporate environment, where the existence of MS Office is known, in which case it will provide a useful and easy to implement spell checking solution for the company s intranet. The program comes with source code examples and the interface can be customized.
