CleanMail Server (formerly NoSpamToday! for Servers) is an SMTP proxy server based spam filter that sits between the internet and your mail server. It accepts the incoming mail, filters it and passes it on to your mail server. This is done completely transparent, and all settings, rules and configuration of your mail server remain unchanged. CleanMail Server uses the SpamAssassin (open source) engine to identify spam, flags it in the subject line and adds a spam report to the suspected spam message. As an additional measure the original message is attached to the mail, preventing accidental opening of spam that could contain tracking bugs or malicious code. It can optionally send a spam notification to the sender, informing him that the message was filtered and may not be read. CleanMail Server can be used with a personal freeware license, limited to 10 email addresses.
