Folder Lock is an easy to use tool to create a password protected folder, that you can use to store all your sensitive files and documents. The folder is completely hidden while it is locked, and the files and folders contained in the Locker are inaccessible from Windows Explorer or even DOS mode. The program is very easy to use, it offers a simplistic interface that lets you unlock/lock and open the protected folder, and then simply drag new files into the Locker. Folder Lock offers 3 different protection methods (lock, scramble and 256-bit Blowfish encryption). You don`t have to keep Folder Lock running all the time in order to keep your files protected, just launch it when you need to gain access to your protected area or want to add new files. The program is completely self-contained and can also be used to protect removable drives (e.g USB drives) and transfer data securely from one location to another without the need to install any software. Additional features include file shredding, stealth mode, hack attempt monitoring and more.

Sandboxie allows you to run your browser, or any other program, so that all changes that result from the usage are kept in a sandbox environment, which can then be deleted later. This allows you to remove traces of your internet or PC activities, as well as reverse any changes to your Favorites, home page, registry and more. Even files that were downloaded during a sandbox session will be wiped after the sandbox is cleared. The program runs in the system tray and if you want to start a sandboxed session, simply launch your browser, or any other program via the tray icon, rather than the regular way.

Security Task Manager is an enhanced task manager, that provides advanced information about programs and processes running on the computer. It displays all the standard information, including file name, directory path, description, CPU usage etc. as well as a unique security risk rating. The security risk rating is based on an analysis that takes takes different aspects of the process into consideration, and indicates the likelihood of the process being potential spyware, malware or a Trojan. This indicator is purely based on generic analysis, and does not use any signature files, so it is open to interpretation by the (advanced) user. Security Task Manager also displays the start time, the icon of the process, hidden functions and more. It can recognize virtual driver software, services and also BHOs or processes hidden from the Windows task manager. You can choose to terminate any process, delete it, or alternately quarantine it, which will disable it from running again without actually deleting it. Additional information is provided via context sensitive Google results, and you can customize risk ratings by adding your own comments. Overall, a very useful TaskManager for novice and advanced users alike, that provides many unique features.

Atelier Web Firewall Tester is a tool for probing Personal Firewall software strengths against outbound connection attempts from unauthorized programs. It is intended to help you tweak your existing Personal Firewall software for improved protection or make a rational choice of a PF within the available alternatives in the market-place. Atelier Web Firewall Tester offers 6 different tests, each of them establishes a HTTP connection and attempts to download a web page. Since test results are based on theoretical threats and will vary based on individual settings and user security preferences, we did not assign a rating to this product.

Folder Shield can be used to hide any folder completely and securely. Your personal documents, private photographs etc. are invisible, and therefore no longer accessible, as soon as the relevant folders have been hidden with Folder Shield. Just specify all your confidential folders and activate Folder Shield s protection and they will be hidden from unauthorized access. As Folder Shield operates on a driver basis and does not modify or encrypt the data, even large quantities of data can be concealed quickly. Files held in the concealed folders cannot be manipulated or modified, nor can t they be deleted or even opened. This applies both to Windows Explorer and also to DOS dialog boxes, program dialogs, other file managers as well as viruses and Trojan horses.

In order to activate the USB lock mode, all USB storage devices must be disconnected (including backup drives and card readers and iPods), which can be rather inconvenient for those who have one of these devices permanently connected to their computer.

Malware Defender is a hands-on HIPS (Host Intrusion Prevention System) for advanced users. It enables you to create rules that can help you protect your computer from malware, Trojans, spyware and other threats. The program supports rules for files, executable and registry entries and allows you to set detailed restrictions that can cause certain actions to be denied or prompt you for permission. Malware Defender also includes a process manager, an AutoStart Manager, Hooks detector, Registry Browser and some other advanced tools. This program is designed for advanced users and requires some knowledge about application behavior and registry interaction.

Cryptainer PE enables you to create a secure container on your PC, using powerful 256/448 bit strong encryption - without changing the way you work. The software creates new virtual drive letter(s), and all files that are added to this drive are encrypted on-the-fly. You can also create a secure storage container on any media including external and removable drives (e.g. USB drives, CD etc). The drive letter is accessible through Windows Explorer just like any other drive - as long as you are logged into the Cryptainer PE interface. If the program is terminated, the files in the secure drive are no longer accessible to other users - you can access them at any time by logging in with your password. Using this method, you can automatically keep a secure area, that can only be accessed by you, without having to encrypt individual files manually - just login once. In addition, Cryptainer PE allows you to send files with encrypted email messages, using self-decrypting EXE attachments that do not require any software to be installed by the recipient.

Secure IT is an easy to use file encryption program that protects all your files and folders using 448bit strong Blowfish encryption or AES encryption. You can encrypt any type of file (documents, movies, pictures etc.) and also create self-decrypting EXE files that can be sent as email attachment and the recipient does not need to install any software in order to decrypt it. Secure IT also includes a secure file shredder that lets you delete files beyond recovery. The program is easy to use and offers step-by-step wizards to encrypt and decrypt your files.

Folder Password Expert lets you restrict access to selected folders that contain your sensitive data. The protected folders are marked with a special icon and their contents cannot be read, copied, modified or deleted. To access a locked folder, simply click on it and enter the correct password when prompted. The program comes with an easy to use step-by-step wizard to select and (un)protect your folders.

Folder Security Personal allows you to hide and lock folders and files. You can choose to hide them completely or restrict access by making them read-only ,thereby preventing modification or deletion by other users or programs. The program can also lock local hard disks as well as Floppy drives, CDrom drives and removable disks and supports FAT/FAT32/NTFS. Additional features include support for special folders (My Documents, Send To etc.) and password protected interface. In addition, the program includes features to repair and prevent malicious changes to Internet Explorer.

Docsvault Professional is a document management software that enables you to store all your important documents in a central repository, organize them into cabinets and folders, track changes via audit trails and version history, burn selected documents to CD/DVD and more. You can import paper documents directly from your scanner and automatically convert the scanned document to PDF, TIFF or other digital formats. Other features include a built-in task manager with reminders and linked documents, integrated document search engine, backup/restore, tabbed interface and automatic file versioning. Docsvault Professional also comes with a PDF printer driver that allows you to convert any document to PDF via the standard print command.

lockngo enables you to protect the information stored on USB keys, removable hard drives and SmartMedia cards etc. The program is not installed on your PC, but directly copied onto the removable media - once you run it, it allows you to set a password for the media and then encrypts and locks the content, so that it can only be accessed with the proper password. When you insert the protected media, all you can see is the lockngo executable, once you run it and enter the proper password, it will reveal the content.

Password Protect allows you to password protect and lock selected folders against unwanted access. The folders can be located on your hard drive, as well as external or removable drives. The folders remain clearly visible, however they have a new icon, indicating that access to the folder is restricted. Attempting to open the folder will bring up the Password Protect password dialog. The protected folders cannot be copied or deleted while they are locked.

Universal Shield is a file protection and encryption tool, that enables you to encrypt or hide files, folders, drives and set additional access rules for each item. It offers 9 encryption algorithms including Blowfish, Triple-DES, Rijndael and others to choose from and a wizard can guide you through each protection project. Additional features include an option to configure Trusted Processes (programs that will always be able to access protected files), hiding files by wildcard (e.g *.mpeg) and a few option to limit access to system folders. You can quickly toggle the protection for all objects by clicking the Unlock button in the (password protected) interface.

Program Protector allows you to password protect selected programs, so that a dialog will prompt for the proper password before the program can be run. You can password protect any Windows application by simply dragging the EXE file or a shortcut into the application interface. The protection cannot be bypassed, even if the executable is renamed. The program can also log all access to protected programs, and allows you to customize the password dialog. Program Protector modifies the executable of the program(s) it protects, so it does not need to be running (or even installed) after the password has been set.

iNet Protector allows you to restrict web access in different ways. You can chose to completely disable it, unless a proper password is entered, or set a schedule that restricts access based on specified time frames each day. In addition, you can also set a countdown timer, so that the connection will be disabled after a set time limit has run out. The program does only block common Internet ports protocols - we could not use a browser or email, but ping or traceroute without restrictions.

DirMonitor allows you to monitor selected folders, processes and files for changes (creation, deletion or modification), and to watch for the creation of specified files. If a change is logged, you will be notified with a system tray message and an option to automatically run a program (trigger event). You can specify monitoring options for each item independently, monitor folder structures recursively, and apply additional filters to exclude certain files from the monitoring. In addition, the program offers to automatically backup the monitored files and keeps a detailed log of all changes. Other features include password protection, Rijndael and Blowfish encryption and more.

Browser Sentinel keeps you informed of all third-party extensions that are being attached to Internet Explorer. The tabbed interface allows you to view detailed information about every installed extension and offers you to safely disable/enable any of them. The program watches BHOs, Toolbars, Bands, Buttons as well as context menu entries and ActiveX control - you can choose to be notified when any items are added to these sections. In addition you can view (and optionally disable) a list of programs that automatically start with Windows, and also lock your home page, preventing other programs from changing it. You can also export all details to a text file for later review. Browser Sentinel does not offer any suggestions as to which add-ons are good or bad, this decision is left to the user.

Servoyant (formerly iView Security Analytics) is a log analyzer for NetScreen, Cisco PIX, Sonicwall, and Fortinet firewalls. It analyzes the firewall traffic log and provides detailed, easy to read reports. The program uses highly optimized algorithms to process and interpret the raw log information. Servoyant is designed to run on a single location and firewall.

MyUSBonly enables you to restrict the use of USB storage devices on your computer. You can create a white-list of allowed devices by inserting them, and allowing MyUSBonly to detect and save them as trusted devices. All other storage devices will be immediately disconnected. You can also choose to receive an email message whenever an unauthorized device is connected or disconnected, and review a log of all devices that have been used on your PC.

ProcAlert Pro helps you keep an eye on what programs are running on your computer. It works somewhat similar to an application firewall, but does not take Internet or network connectivity into consideration. Instead it will monitor all programs and processes, regardless of their activity, and allows you to assign a trust level to each one. If a new program is started in the background, ProcAlert Pro will intercept it and prompt your to allow or deny the action. There are several options to set exclusion, and to use a default trust list, as well as logging and password protection. The program also comes with a lockdown feature, that will prevent any other programs from starting, except the ones that are currently running. Additional features include a list of installed services and their state, marking of Windows processes and more. A handy security tool for intermediate and advanced users.

Dekart Logon enables you to protect access to notebook and desktop computers by requiring a secret key, stored on a removable USB drive, smart card or USB token and adds and additional level of authentication and convenience to the standard Windows logon procedure. If the USB drive is inserted with the proper password key, the system will automatically log you on, without the need to type any username and password. In addition, you can also make the USB key a requirement and specify an additional password (3 level security), so that logon to the system is only possible if the proper key is present. The choice of these two methods makes the product useful not only for security concerned users, but also for people that want to make the login process faster, without leaving the system unprotected. Whenever you temporarily leave the computer, you can temporarily lock the computer by simply removing the USB key. Dekart Logon can optionally work in combination with biometric devices.

Xintegrity is a tool to monitor selected files, so that they cannot be modified without being detected. It creates a database and creates checksums for all files that are added. You can then let the program check for changes automatically, or manually as needed. If an file has been changed, the program will show exactly how and when the file was modified and gives you the option to restore the original file from backup (created automatically). Additional features include an option to strengthen folder access permissions, password protected interface, optional encryption of backup files and more.

Identity Finder enables you to locate personally identifiable information on your computer, including social security and credit card numbers, bank account numbers, birth dates, phone numbers and more. This information can accumulate over time, and you may not even be aware that some of your old documents or emails contain personal information. Identity Finder allows you to locate the items and gives you a choice to either securely delete or encrypt them. By using proprietary search algorithms to uncover multiple variations of specific types of private information the program discovers many identity matches automatically and without requiring you to enter any information. You can also enter specific personal information that you want the program to search for and it will try to discover the data using various formats. Identity Finder searches your entire computer, including browser storage areas, cookies, messenger logs, Office documents, the Windows Registry and other locations.
