Ace Translator makes use of online translation engines to translate any text in to one of 12 different languages. The interface is plain and simple, comparable to the features of free online translation services. The program supports translation from English to Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish as well as French to Dutch, German to English, Spanish to English and more.

CatsCradle is an aid for language translators that provides an easy way to translate web pages. While it does not do any translation, it extracts the text out of evey page and presents it in an easy to editable overview that allows you to translate the text portions without having to deal with any HTML code or other distractions. The built-in editing screen allows for side-by-side editing, as well as optional real-time browser preview of the translated page. Additional features include a built in glossary that can suggest appropriate words and phrases while you are translating, project file catalog with word count and more. CatsCradle can also handle .hhc and .hhk files for translating of .chm help files. And of course, you can also use the tool to edit text on any web page without translating edit, so it can a also handy tool for webmasters that need some quick no-code text editing.

Talking Translator Pro can translate text between 7 languages, look up words in an online dictionary and read files or text aloud. It uses the power of free online translation engines (Babelfish). If you have the proper speech engines installed (available free from Microsoft), it can also read the translations in their native language using the in-built text-to-speech support. In addition, you can have it read text files, web pages or clipboard text aloud, and the program comes with a small editor, that lets you save your translation in various formats, including PDF. Since Talking Translator Pro depends on online sites, you must be connected to the internet while using it.

MultiTranse lets you translate any text to/from English, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Korean, Japanese and Norwegian. It uses free online search engines to perform the translation, and displays the results in a small interface, allowing you to switch between translations and copy or save the translated text. MultiTranse is Unicode compatible; it can automatically determine the font and encodes Unicode text into any ANSI format or vice versa. The program is limited to a maximum of 150 words, which limits the functionality to small projects - just like the free services that it uses to do the translation.

Site Translator allows webmasters to translate a web site into as many as 7 different languages. The program supports DOC, TXT, HTML and ASP files and automatically ignores the code tags during the translation process. Unlike web based translation tools, Site Translator creates the actual translated output files on your local machine, so you can refine them if needed and then upload them to your web site. The program can translate an entire site at once and creates output pages with a prefix based on the selected language. Currently supported languages include English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Norwegian. Site Translator combines machine translation technology with translation memory giving you a powerful and customizable language translator. In addition to the file translation, you can also translate any URL and view the translated version in the integrated browser interface. As with any machine translation, the translation may not be completely accurate in context. The trial is limited to the first 200 words for each translation.

Babylon enables you to translate selected text into various languages, or to look up the meaning in an English dictionary. The program tightly integrates with Windows, and allows you to simply Ctrl-click on a word in your browser, email or other document to launch a small pop-up dialog with translation and/or definition results. The program offers a choice of online dictionary sources, as well as Wikipedia lookup (other dictionaries can be purchased as add-ons). Other features include currency, measurement and time conversions, integrated web search (Google) and spell checking.

Flexdict is an international dictionary (English German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Hungarian, Dutch and Swedish) that can look up any word by simply holding the CTRL button on your keyword while clicking on the word. The program works with your web browser, email program, Microsoft Office and virtually any other application. Flexdict can also suggest alternative spellings and pronounce a word, using Microsoft Agent technology. You can extend the capabilities by adding additional dictionaries, including Wikipedia, Moby Thesaurus and others.

RocketReader Vocab American Edition is a vocabulary trainer that can help you broaden your vocabulary and/or prepare for an SAT. It contains an extensive set of words conveniently organized into 37 lessons. The lessons cover a variety of topics including business talk, health, art, clothing, food, literature and more. Each lesson is executed as a multiple choice question with audio pronunciation of the training word or phrase. The program keeps track of your lessons and scores and supports multiple users.
