Notes and Reminders

TurboNote+ is a handy little program that lets you "stick" notes to your screen and also send them to others on your network or via email. You can use them for reminders, messages, to-do lists, Web and email addresses. You can change note colors and sizes, have them ring alarms, print them, lock them and keep your screen uncluttered by hiding them, using a keyboard shortcut. Notes even stay around when you turn your computer off, and are automatically backed up. The Quick Launch feature also lets you open Web addresses, programs and files which appear in notes, simply by double-clicking on them. Each note can be customized in color and appearance, and optionally marked as urgent. TurboNote+ is compatible with an optional TurboNote Relay server, that allows you to exchange notes across the Internet and through firewalls.

NoteZilla enables you to place attractive sticky notes on your desktop, or associate them with websites, documents or application windows. The notes support font formatting, pictures and reminder alarms, and can be rolled up/down or hidden as needed. NoteZilla includes a notes browser that allows you to manage your notes, organize them into folders (memoboards) and search through them by keyword. Other features include sending of sticky notes over the network (to other NoteZilla users), file attachments, password protected notes, integrated backup and more.

1st Clock is an enhanced system tray clock, that offers integrated alarm reminders, date display, calendar with moon phase, additional time zone displays and more. The program can replace your standard Windows clock display, and is completely customizable in color, size and font. Additional features include built-in time synchronization via SNTP, TCP/IP or local network time server, as well as multiple time zones that can be displayed in the tray popup. 1st Clock can even display a tint bar graph that shows current CPU and memory usage.

Global Time Synchronizer is a time synchronization tool with several additional features. It includes a desktop clock with built-in popup calendar, and alarm (recurring) notifications, that can optionally be used to replace the standard clock display in the system tray. The program synchronizes itself with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Atomic Clock servers and supports SNTP as well as Time Protocol (RFC868) and Socks4/5 proxy connections. Global Time Synchronizer includes a variety of skins for the clock display and additional ones can be downloaded from the Internet. Other features include built-in time zone display, allowing you to show additional time zones or cities in the tooltip, support for European date format and more.

StickyNote is a sticky notes program that allows you to create realistic 3D-style notes on your desktop or send them to over the Internet (requires use of AwareNet service). In addition to desktop placement, the program also allows you to attach notes to application windows, which enables specific notes only to be shown when the program (window) is running. Additional features include attaching of documents, alarm notes to be triggered on a certain date, categorized notes manager and more. StickyNote can be easily customized in texture, color and priority with a few simple clicks.

OutNote is a unique Outlook add-in that enables you to attach notes to your Outlook emails and contacts. It fully integrates with Outlook, and to create a note, simply right-click any email or contact in Outlook, and select the `Create Note` item from the right-click menu. Whenever you select a message that has a note associated with it, the program will inform you from the system tray, or optionally pop up the note immediately. The program supports the Outlook colored flags and can automatically assign a flag of your choice to any message that contains a note. You can also attach files to a note, and manage them from a notes manager interface. A great productivity booster for heavy email users.

Kirby Alarm Pro is a combination of personal reminder program and task scheduler, that can automatically remind you of important events with a popup note and optional sound alert, or trigger a variety of other actions including scheduled program launches, FTP uploads, file backups, system shutdowns and more. The program can also be used to send automated emails, either as reminders or recurring notifications. In addition, Kirby Alarm Pro can monitor files and folders for changes and trigger any of the supported actions when the monitored files or folders are changed, files are added or absent or other conditions apply. Other features include optional password protection, built-in To Do list manager, time announcements, and more. Can run as a Service.

The control center allows you to manage all of your entries and also keeps track of your history. Additional features include support for audio files, web links, recurring reminders and more.

Atomic Alarm Clock is an easy to use alarm clock that can remind you of appointments or other important tasks. It supports one-time and recurring reminders with optional sound notification, as well as associated sound and actions. You can choose from several sounds that come include or select any MP3 file from your computer. The program can optionally launch a program or document at the time of the reminder, and also shut down your computer at a certain time. Atomic Alarm Clock also includes a replacement for the standard Windows tray clock, that allows you to choose from dozens of different skins and styles, as well as a time synchronizing feature to adjust your system time via online time servers.

NotesHolder is a handy notes bar that hides along the side or top of your desktop and lets you quickly type in any piece of information. Move your mouse cursor to the edge of the screen, the list of the notes will pop up. Click once to create a new note or to edit an existing one, print or delete it. New notes are automatically stamped with the current time and you can search through all your notes by keyword. You can also organize your notes in multiple tabs, export them to XML and more. NotesHolder is easy to use and a good alternative for sticky notes.

GigAlarm allows you set one-time or recurring reminders. Once set, an alarm can be set to auto-repeat on set days or by a time offset. The alarm can be either a wave file playing (random or selected), a program/file running (also random or selected), changing the background wallpaper, a window or various Windows shut down options. It has various other options including search, snooze control, variable alarm cut off, repeating sounds, boot up alarms, countdown, variable pause, variable alarm warning, missed alarm notification, and more.

TimeLeft is a multi-functional utility that acts as a clock, reminder, alarm clock, countdown, stopwatch and time synchronization tool. It uses WinAmp skins, which allows you to fully customize the display to your preference. The customizable countdown allows you to be reminded of forthcoming events and at the same day keep track of days, minutes and seconds as the countdown elapses. You can configure the reminder to alarm you at a specific or periodically for recurring events and launch a message box (also customizable), a sound and optionally an application or web site URL. The additional time synchronization feature can check and set your time automatically or whenever needed. This version is free and will not expire, however time sync is limited and you can only use one reminder.

Kirby Alarm is an alarm and task scheduler that can launch a popup reminder dialog, play a sound, run a program or send an email address in user defined intervals. The scheduling options include simple recurring reminders, as well as more advanced options like every X day of the month, every other Friday, last Monday of the month, last day of the month etc. The program comes with a simple but practical interface and is easy to use. It doesn`t look like much, but actually offers a fairly flexible set of features, and new reminders can be created very quickly. Runs in the system tray.

Talking Reminder keeps track of your important events and reminds you about them using optional speech, sound, alert window, email notification, or file execution. The program is easy to use and offers various pre-defined styles, including birthday reminders that can automatically remind you of buying a present several days before the actual event. Each event type has an icon associated with it, making it easy to distinguish them at a glance. To reschedule events, you can simply drag the event icon to another day on the calendar. Additional features include recurring events, skin interface, event preview and search options.

WinReminder is a personal reminder tool, that you can use to keep track of upcoming and recurring events. It can notify you via pop-up reminders, email notifications or SMS message to your cell phone. The program offers a snooze feature to delay the reminder, as well as support for file execution, AudioCD launch and Internet time synchronization. Additional features include a choice of event icons, and a search option.

Aeris Calendar is a desktop calendar display with integrated weather information, forecasts and severe weather alerts (provided by weather.com). It allows you to add single event or recurring reminders, and add a small note to any date. You can also customize the list of common events and holidays and maintain a ToDo list. Aeris Calendar runs in the system tray from where it displays the current temperature for your selected zip code, and also includes a small desktop display for current weather conditions.

Countdown Pro is a flexible countdown timer and reminder program that allows you to create individual or combine countdown bars on your desktop. It includes several themes to choose from and you can also customize the appearance by designing your own theme. Countdown Pro supports single or recurring reminders, countdowns, static notes and timers. A unique features enables you to export any countdown to a standalone .EXE file that can be shared with friends or family (disabled during trial).

The program supports calendar import/export via iCal files and offers optional password protection for selected notes. If you have multiple computers with Exstora Pro installed, you can also synchronize your data across multiple machines.

CalendarReminder also includes a simple stopwatch and a countdown timer.

VIP Simple To Do List enables you to maintain a ToDo list for your personal or business tasks. It supports custom categories and task reminders by sound or email. You can view all your tasks at once, or filter them by due date, status or category . Additional features include ToDo List printing and password protection.

Notesbrowser combines a calendar and notes manager in a unique skin enabled interface. You can easily enter and auto save notes, infos, adress-lists, dates or bookmarks and access them in few seconds. The program features several different layouts, web support for email and http links and more.

Anniversaries Reminder is an easy-to-use birthday and anniversary reminder that can alert you of upcoming events in advance. You can create single event entries or recurring reminders, and set an importance level for each entry. Other features include Zodiac signs calculation for birthdays, a backup option and database synchronization with other computers, as well as customizable interface color schemes.

SuperCool Calendar is a basic calendar program with alarm and reminders, as well as an option to print the current month. It can be used for one-time appointments, recurring events, birthdays anniversaries etc. and supports layers that allow you to color code personal events, business events and more. The program has a very plain interface, and is limited to monthly views. It offers an additional search feature to find entries by keyword, as well as a backup option.

NoteScraps is a personal notes manager that uses a virtual pinboard concept to keep track of your notes. You can simply type a new note and it will be added to the pinboard. The program also provides a simple keyword search function as well as 5 different colors to choose from to highlight notes. Overall, the program will not help you much with getting organized, as it (nicely) simulates the same clutter effect that you would see on a real pinboard. If you prefer this approach, give it a try, however if you are looking for a way to eliminate clutter, looks elsewhere.
