Kirby Alarm is an alarm and task scheduler that can launch a popup reminder dialog, play a sound, run a program or send an email address in user defined intervals. The scheduling options include simple recurring reminders, as well as more advanced options like every X day of the month, every other Friday, last Monday of the month, last day of the month etc. The program comes with a simple but practical interface and is easy to use. It doesn`t look like much, but actually offers a fairly flexible set of features, and new reminders can be created very quickly. Runs in the system tray.

VueMinder Calendar Pro is a full-featured calendar program that supports multiple calendars which can be displayed simultaneously as layers. It offers the standard daily, weekly and monthly view options as well as different reminder options, including email reminders, desktop alerts and SMS notifications. VueMinder supports publishing of calendars (.ics format) for sharing and subscriptions, as well as import of calendars in iCalendar format. Other features include Outlook integration, calendar printing, import/export to Excel, customizable interface, support for recurring events, and more.

Talking Reminder keeps track of your important events and reminds you about them using optional speech, sound, alert window, email notification, or file execution. The program is easy to use and offers various pre-defined styles, including birthday reminders that can automatically remind you of buying a present several days before the actual event. Each event type has an icon associated with it, making it easy to distinguish them at a glance. To reschedule events, you can simply drag the event icon to another day on the calendar. Additional features include recurring events, skin interface, event preview and search options.

OutNote is a unique Outlook add-in that enables you to attach notes to your Outlook emails and contacts. It fully integrates with Outlook, and to create a note, simply right-click any email or contact in Outlook, and select the `Create Note` item from the right-click menu. Whenever you select a message that has a note associated with it, the program will inform you from the system tray, or optionally pop up the note immediately. The program supports the Outlook colored flags and can automatically assign a flag of your choice to any message that contains a note. You can also attach files to a note, and manage them from a notes manager interface. A great productivity booster for heavy email users.

TimeLeft is a multi-functional utility that acts as a clock, reminder, alarm clock, countdown, stopwatch and time synchronization tool. It uses WinAmp skins, which allows you to fully customize the display to your preference. The customizable countdown allows you to be reminded of forthcoming events and at the same day keep track of days, minutes and seconds as the countdown elapses. You can configure the reminder to alarm you at a specific or periodically for recurring events and launch a message box (also customizable), a sound and optionally an application or web site URL. The additional time synchronization feature can check and set your time automatically or whenever needed. This version is free and will not expire, however time sync is limited and you can only use one reminder.

StickyNote is a sticky notes program that allows you to create realistic 3D-style notes on your desktop or send them to over the Internet (requires use of AwareNet service). In addition to desktop placement, the program also allows you to attach notes to application windows, which enables specific notes only to be shown when the program (window) is running. Additional features include attaching of documents, alarm notes to be triggered on a certain date, categorized notes manager and more. StickyNote can be easily customized in texture, color and priority with a few simple clicks.

GigAlarm allows you set one-time or recurring reminders. Once set, an alarm can be set to auto-repeat on set days or by a time offset. The alarm can be either a wave file playing (random or selected), a program/file running (also random or selected), changing the background wallpaper, a window or various Windows shut down options. It has various other options including search, snooze control, variable alarm cut off, repeating sounds, boot up alarms, countdown, variable pause, variable alarm warning, missed alarm notification, and more.

TurboNote+ is a handy little program that lets you "stick" notes to your screen and also send them to others on your network or via email. You can use them for reminders, messages, to-do lists, Web and email addresses. You can change note colors and sizes, have them ring alarms, print them, lock them and keep your screen uncluttered by hiding them, using a keyboard shortcut. Notes even stay around when you turn your computer off, and are automatically backed up. The Quick Launch feature also lets you open Web addresses, programs and files which appear in notes, simply by double-clicking on them. Each note can be customized in color and appearance, and optionally marked as urgent. TurboNote+ is compatible with an optional TurboNote Relay server, that allows you to exchange notes across the Internet and through firewalls.

NotesHolder is a handy notes bar that hides along the side or top of your desktop and lets you quickly type in any piece of information. Move your mouse cursor to the edge of the screen, the list of the notes will pop up. Click once to create a new note or to edit an existing one, print or delete it. New notes are automatically stamped with the current time and you can search through all your notes by keyword. You can also organize your notes in multiple tabs, export them to XML and more. NotesHolder is easy to use and a good alternative for sticky notes.

The notes can be kept as desktop stickies and have different colors, which can be customized to your preference. The control center allows you to manage all of your entries and also keeps track of your history. Additional features include support for audio files, web links, recurring reminders and more.

Atomic Alarm Clock is an easy to use alarm clock that can remind you of appointments or other important tasks. It supports one-time and recurring reminders with optional sound notification, as well as associated sound and actions. You can choose from several sounds that come include or select any MP3 file from your computer. Aeris Calendar is a desktop calendar display with integrated weather information, forecasts and severe weather alerts (provided by accuweather.com). It allows you to add single event or recurring reminders, and add a small note to any date. You can also customize the list of common events and holidays and maintain a ToDo list. Aeris Calendar runs in the system tray from where it displays the current temperature for your selected zip code, and also includes a small desktop display for current weather conditions.

Exstora Pro is a simple program to organize personal notes and reminders. TaskMerlin is designed to be compatible with the popular GTD (Getting Things Done) system.

NoteScraps is a personal notes manager that uses a virtual pinboard concept to keep track of your notes. You can simply type a new note and it will be added to the pinboard. The program also provides a simple keyword search function as well as 5 different colors to choose from to highlight notes. Overall, the program will not help you much with getting organized, as it (nicely) simulates the same clutter effect that you would see on a real pinboard. If you prefer this approach, give it a try, however if you are looking for a way to eliminate clutter, looks elsewhere.

Mindful is a personal reminder software that enables you to set up multiple one-time or recurring reminders for important events. You can choose to be alerted via pop-up window on your desktop or by launch of a file or Internet link once the reminder is due.
