If a device does not respond, it can take a pre-defined action that includes sound warning, email notification, pager or mobile phone notification, execute external programs, remote shutdown/reboot and more. LANState
LANState is a visual network manager that allows you to create an interactive map of your network and monitor the status of all connected devices in real-time. LANState monitors shared resources, traffic, and notifies you on miscellaneous events. In addition, you can send messages, shut down remote computers, review system information, and run network tools including ping and traceroute. Other features include a network traffic monitor, and export to BMP or XML scheme.
System Monitoring Protocol
System Monitoring Protocol allows you to track hardware and software installed on computers on the network (that have the supplied client application installed). You can examine installed hardware devices and software programs, track hardware modifications and more. In addition, the program provides a way to exchange messages, view the remote desktop, run applications and transfer files. You can create reports of installed hardware and software as well as statistical data across all machines. System Monitoring Protocol provides internal viewers for remote software and configurations, however reports and statistics can only be exported to CSV, tab delimited or HTML file. The price is based on 10 licenses. The product is priced at $19 per client machine.
IDEAL Remote
IDEAL Remote lets you take remote control of your Windows NT, 2000, XP, 2003 and Vista workstations on the network. You can choose between TightVNC or Remote Desktop (Terminal Services) to operate the remote PC as if sitting in front of it. Furthermore, IDEAL Remote enables you to access various system properties of the remote machine(s), including events, printers, processes, sessions, open files and WMI properties.
NEWT Professional
NEWT Professional is a network inventory scanner for network administrators. It gathers a wide range of machine specific data (up to 200 items), including System Information, Installed Hotfixes, Fonts, Services, Installed Software, IDE devices, Network Information, Startup Entries and much more. The program offers discovery and scanning by domain, workgroup, IP range, or by using the built-in Network Browser. You can select the items to scan for and also save/load them, so you can quickly switch between different scan types. The results are presented in a spreadsheet-style report, and can also be exported to CSV, HTML and text format. Additional features include search and filtering of results, Itemization tool, saving of (encrypted) scan results and more.
NetShareWatcher
NetShareWatcher monitor network shares and folder permissions and alerts you every time a user changes the ACL of a share to a group that violates your access policy (e.g changing ACL to `Everyone`). If a change is detected that matches your rules, it can automatically disable the share, send an email or network message message or alert you from the system tray.
Ideal Administration
Ideal Administration offers centralized administration for Windows NT/2000/2003 domains. It simplifies the administration of Windows NT/2000/2003 networks by integrating all functionalities needed to manage user accounts, servers and domains. The product allows remote control of your Windows NT/2000/XP/9x systems, including user password migration between NT/2000 domains, TSE & Exchange (5.5 & 2000) management, Active Directory management (OU, Windows 2000 groups, Windows 2000 user properties)and management of trusted relationships. It also allows to create or modify NT services/devices on several computers at once as well as transfer between servers, computers, groups, users, shares and printers. Additional features include database recording of user properties, groups and shared folders, daily recording of sessions and opened files, command line operation and more. Ideal Administration looks very similar to the Windows 2000 "Manage Computer" MSC and provides access to almost all administrative functions for the entire domain from a single, easy to use interface.
IDEAL Secure 2008
IDEAL Secure 2008 enables network administrators to apply predefined actions to multiple computers on the network. The program includes dozens of actions sorted into categories (Windows, hardware, network, software) that allow you to enforce desktop settings, restrict control panel access, change Internet Explorer settings and many other system details, without the need to install any remote agents on the workstations. Administrators can easily enable or disable a complete set of actions on a selection of computers in a single step.
EMCO Network Inventory
EMCO Network Inventory is a tool to perform fast and comprehensive PC hardware inventory and software audits. It offers different methods to scan your entire network for all available machines and domains and can retrieve detailed information on each machine for both hardware and software components. Machines that have been scanned and cataloged can be marked for Auto-Update and new machines on the network can be detected automatically. The scan results can be exported to several formats, including Excel, Access, Html,Pdf, Jpg and others. Additional features include the option to create custom scan criteria, scanning for password protected screensaver and auto-logon usage, scanning for certain file extensions, registry values and much more. EMCO Network Inventory fully supports remote auditing, but also includes a NT/Win9x logon script stub to audit machines, if that method is preferred.
SmartCode VNC Manager
SmartCode VNC Manager (Enterprise Edition) is a remote administration and monitoring software that enables you manage all your remote environments from a single interface. It supports VNC (RealVNC, UltraVNC and TightVNC), Windows Terminal Server and Microsoft Virtual Server, and provides an integrated viewer to quickly switch between multiple open sessions. A built-in scanner can automatically scan your network for available VNC/RDP servers and add them to a list for quick access. The program also includes a VNC deployment wizard that enables you to deploy various versions of VNC to selected machines. Other features include thumbnail to monitor multiple machines at once, remote administration tools (Remote Task Manager, Remote Reboot, Wake-on-LAN and others), Active Directory integration and more.
EMCO Remote Registry Merge
Remote Registry Merge allows you to Import/Merge any registry file (.reg) to remote computers on a NT Networks under administrator privilege. The program can automatically enumerate all computers on the LAN and you can simply drag the ones to process into the action queue. You can also scan remote computers for detailed information, such as Installed Application, Service Packs, manage multiple registry files, filter by machine criteria and more.
EMCO Network Malware Cleaner
EMCO Network Malware Cleaner can scan your entire network for the presence of of various worms, Trojans and Adware installations, as well as scanning for any Peer to Peer software installed in your network. It can also verify whether the machine has anti-virus protection installed locally. If any malware is found, the program can silently clean and remove the infection. The current version supports about 4000+ threats, however does not provide any information that explains why it considers detected items to be malware or spyware. Scanning of machines requires administrative access, and may also require additional configuration changes if XP SP2 is installed on the remote machine(s).
LanHelper
LanHelper is a network information scanner, that includes Wake-On-LAN and remote commands to control network machines. It can automatically enumerate your network and gather information including Shares, MAC address, online status, operating system and more. You are provided with options to access the machines , send network messages, reboot the machine, map network drives, exportto XML and more. The remote command execution can also be scheduled, which allows you to perform various administrative tasks automatically. It includes several pre-configured system commands, and you can also use normal command line execution. LanHelper does not require any client installations, however the $Admin share needs to be present and you must have proper access privileges to use the remote execution features.
SoftPerfect Bandwidth Manager
SoftPerfect Bandwidth Manager is a network traffic management tool provides control over bandwidth usage based on a custom set of rules. You can set bandwidth limits for each Internet user (local IP address), and also apply speed-throttling rules to specified IP addresses, ports and network interfaces - without having to change your existing network infrastructure. With additional options to specify ports and protocols, you can create specific rules aimed at Internet activities such as downloading, file sharing etc., and set additional daily, weekly or monthly quotes that can automatically reduce available bandwidth once the threshold has been reached. Other features include real-time bandwidth monitoring, dynamic bandwidth allocation, email notifications, port mapping and more.
Network Event Viewer
Network Event Viewer enables system administrators to manage, view, sort and search multiple Windows event log files simultaneously. The program will automatically enumerate available networks and allow you to select the machines that you want to download the event logs from (admin access required). You can also perform the download automatically, so that you always have copies of the latest events available. The logs can be viewed individually or in a merged report view, and also stored in an external database, such as SQL Server or MySQL. Additional features include email/SMS notifications, event filtering, search, forwarding to syslog server and more.
EMCO Remote Deployment Kit
EMCO Remote Deployment Kit is a network deployment tool, that enables administrators to install or uninstall applications silently and remotely. The program comes with ready-to-use deployment kits for several popular applications (Winzip, Adobe Reader, Flash Player etc.), and you can create your own kits from locally installed software. Deployment is easily done by simply dragging the target machines into the queue. Additional features include remote registry merge, shutdown/reboot and more.
DeviceLock Plug and Play Auditor
DeviceLock Plug and Play Auditor enables network administrators to view all USB, Firewire and and PCMCIA devices that are connected on the network. It display the result in a tree-style or list view along with details for each device, including the type, class, device ID and more. The list can be saved or exported as text or comma delimited file. You can select computers for auditing from the Network Neighborhood, an LDAP tree or load a list of IP addresses. DeviceLock Plug and Play Auditor requires administrative access, as well as remote registry service, server service and File sharing enables on the remote machines.
Network Inventory Expert
Network Inventory Expert enables you to create an inventory of your network without the need to install any software on the remote machines. You can gather information about operating system, system details (processor, memory usage, motherboard, bios, network details etc.), service packs, hotfixes, hardware, installed software and running processes on the remote PCs and optionally create reports based on the findings. Steel Inventory
Steel Inventory is a network inventory auditing program, that allows you to keep track of software and hardware changes across your network. After an initial scan, you can generate a snapshot that includes the current hardware and software information, and allows you to detect changes that were made later by comparing the snapshot with a current scan. In case of changes, the machines are marked, and the changed items can be viewed. The program is useful to detect newly added or removed software, as well as hardware devices that have been removed or added. In addition, you can also use the program for license tracking and be alerted if software licenses have been exceeded by to many installations. Other features include automatic refresh and reports. Steel Inventory does not require any software installation on the remote machines (admin and remote access privileges are required though).
QueryShark
QueryShark is a tool for network administrators to collect system information from your Windows network machines. The program uses WMI access and does not require the installation of any agents (proper configuration and access rights required). You can choose from a variety of query templates that enable you to retrieve different types of system data in real-time, including hardware info, performance data, disk information and many other details. You can create, modify, save and export query information and create custom queries to quickly retrieve the information you are interested in.
Proactive Password Auditor
Proactive Password Auditor (formerly Proactive Windows Security Explorer) is security testing tool that is designed to allow system administrators to identify and close password related security holes in their networks. It performs an audit of account passwords, and exposes insecure account passwords (if any). If it is possible to recover the password within a reasonable time, the password is considered insecure. PWSE supports retrieval from dump files (pwdump/pwdump2/pwdump3 and others), local registry, binary registry files (SAM and SYSTEM), local memory, and memory of remote computers including machines that are running Active Directory. It can also be used to perform brute-force and dictionary attacks on LM and NTLM password hashes. Several options allow you to limit the range of passwords to a specific lenght, charset, mask and more.
EMCO Remote Screenshot
EMCO Remote Screenshot is a simple network tool, that allows administrators to capture a full-size screenshot of any remote desktop that is accessible with admin privileges. The captures can be saved to disk, in either BMP or JPG format. You can also choose to capture the screen of the connected machine automatically every X minutes. EMCO Remote Screenshot works well, but for the price, it does not offer much beyond very basic screen captures.

Global Network Inventory is a software and hardware inventory system that can be used as an audit scanner in an agent-free and zero deployment environments. It can audit remote workstations and network appliances, including network printers, hubs and other devices. The program requires only administrative access rights if used for on-demand auditing, and it can also be deployed as an agent to perform regular audits initiated through the domain login script. You can scan computers by IP range or domain or based on a host file and fully customize the items to be audited. The available auditing options include various system information groups, installed software, services, user lists, shares, startup programs and much more. Global Network Inventory can export the scan results to HTML, XML, Microsoft Excel, or text formats, and also send reports via email. The price includes a license for up to 25 IP addresses, extra licenses to cover additional addresses can be purchased at any time if required.
Network Asset Monitor
Network Asset Monitor enables network administrators to gather information about operating system, service packs, hotfixes, hardware, installed software and running processes on remote network PCs. It requires a client component to be copied to each of the remote machines, and automatically gather all supported information, as well as a desktop screenshot of the remote PC. All information is read-only, no administrative access is supported. You can create custom reports and export the information to Excel, HTML XML or MS Visio (export disabled during trial). The price includes a license for up to 10 client machines.
Total Network Inventory
Total Network Inventory is an agent-free PC Audit and Network Inventory program for office environments and large scale enterprise networks. It remotely scans all (or just selected) PCs on the network and generates a detailed report that includes complete information about OS, service packs, hotfixes, hardware, software, running processes and other system details. The gathered information is added to a central database that allows administrators to generate custom reports in an easy to read and understand format. Other features include scanning via IP range, agent-free operation (does not require software to be installed on remote machines), scan wizard and more.
EMCO Remote Shutdown Pro
Emco Remote ShutDown Professional is a networking tool that allows you to shut down, log-off, reboot or power-off all or selected machines on a network. It offers one-click enumeration of machines with and also supports manual addition by name or via IP-Range. To shut down computers, you can simply drag the selected machines to the Machine Queue. You can also retrieve system information from the remote machines and filter the machines to be shutdown based on that information. The Shutdown Jobs can be saved and scheduled to be repeated on an hourly, weekly or monthly schedule. Additional features include optional install of a service and shutdown message.
GFI LANguard Network Security Scanner
LANguard allows you to not only scan your network, but do it from a Hackers perspective. It will identify all machines on your network, their Netbios info, open ports, shares and much more. LANguard Network Scanner can also display installed hotfixes and scan for known security issues - providing you with a web link to more information if any are found. It includes a large database of common vulnerabilities, including CGI, FTP, registry exploits and more.
OidView Pro MIB Browser
OidView Pro MIB Browser is a software for SNMP Agent analysis and administration that supports SNMPv1, SNMPv2c, and SNMPv3. It comes with a variety of tools, including MIB Browser, MIB Compiler, SNMP Trap Receiver, OID Poller/Graph Utility, SNMP PDU Trace, Interface (IGRID) tool, Entity-MIB Mapper, and a CISCO CLASS-BASED-QOS-MIB (Quality of Service) Browser. Network Asset Tracker
Network Asset Tracker enables administrators to view complete system information (including hardware and service packs), installed software and running processes on remote network machines. You can the create a custom report for the selected items and export it to HTML, XML, MS Excel or RTF formats as well as MS SQL Server. Network Asset Tracker is read-only and does not require any remote client installation, provide that you have administrative access to the remote machine(s).
Ideal Migration
Ideal Migration provides reliable domain migration to Windows NT, 2000 and 2003, and manages your domain consolidation. After an initial configuration, it automates most of the process and manages the transfer of all required objects including user account passwords, Terminal Server properties, file and directory permissions, printers etc. It supports selective migration, so you can choose which shares and user accounts should be migrated. Ideal Migration is capable of re-organizing an entire IT system. It runs under MMC 1.1 or higher.

The program automatically enumerates the network and lets you select the machines that to process, the program(s) to run along with the access level to execute those applications on the remote machines. In addition, EMCO RunAs Professional has the ability to scan available machines on a network and collect hardware and software information including detailed information about processors, network adapters, processors and memory banks.
ADVrunas
ADVrunas is designed to make the job of System Administrators and Advanced Users easier by replacing the standard RunAs command with an enhanced version that includes advanced options and console support. You can create encrypted shortcuts with embedded credentials, run programs (with passwords) via command line, and easily run application without administrative privileges. To help you remember which credentials you used to run a program, the user name is added to all Windows title bars.
Atelier Web Remote Commander
Atelier Web Remote Commander (AWRC) is a remote control software that allows you to access a PC. What makes AWRC different is that it does not require that you install any kind of software on the remote machine. In order to make this work, the remote computer must be NT based and you must have log-in credentials for an administrator account. The program provides a large variety of administrative functions and system information for the remote machine, including hardware information, running processes, services, physical memory and more. Netrouser 2 Professional Edition
Netrouser 2 Professional Edition enables you to remotely activate, shutdown and reboot networked computers that support Wake On LAN. It can be used for manual Wake or Reboot/Shutdown, as well as for scheduled operations that allow you to activate, shutdown or reboot a computer on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. You can also group multiple computers into categories and apply a schedule of action to all machines in the same group.
RunAs Professional
RunAs Professional extends the functionality of the standard Windows RunAs command. It allows you to launch applications under a different username, which has sufficient access privileges to execute the file (e.g Administrator). Unlike standard RunAs, this program enables you to perform a RunAs command from the command line, and save the .rap files as encrypted shortcuts that can be used to let a user launch a program with Admin privileges, without changing the access rights for his account.

AccountAudit
AccountAudit enables network administrators to examine the user account database of a Domain Controller in a Windows Domain. It can report on common security risks such as accounts without password, locked accounts, accounts with non-expiring passwords and other scenarios. AccountAudit also includes a Account Information Tool that allows you to review information for specific user accounts. The reports are generated in HTML format and includes Notes, Recommendations and Risk Ratings. The free version is limited to 50 user accounts.
AssetDB
AssetDB is an asset database for networked computers, that keeps detailed information on the machines hardware and software inventory as well as user logons. The program allows you to scan by network neighborhood or IP ranges. The gathered information includes disk information, installed software, services, running processes and more. It can also filter the gathered information based on several criteria and create detailed HTML reports. AssetDB requires access to a MS SQL server, where is creates the database to hold the information.
Encrypted RunAs
Encrypted RunAs allows administrators to let users run restricted programs without having to make them members of the Power Users or Administrator groups. It creates encrypted shortcuts that contain all the information required to run the program. All the user has to do is click the shortcut icon and the program is launched with the assigned rights. The same could be accomplished by using the Run As command, however it would require the user to enter the administrator password - with Encrypted RunAs however the user does not need any password and is not given any additional rights, except the ones needed to run the particular program. As an additional security factor, the program uses a CRC fingerprint, to make sure that the program launched is indeed the one that it was intended for, and also verifies the account. Encrypted RunAs also creates files that can be called from logon scripts.
EventReader
EventReader allows system administrators to consolidate the Eventlogs from multiple machines into a single interface. In addition, it offers filtering options that are not available with the standard MS Eventviewer. You can filter the logs by time as well as specific event types by simply clicking the provided filter buttons. EventReader also integrates with EventID.net to provide detailed background information and resources specific to selected events.
EMCO Permissions Audit
EMCO Permissions Audits is a network permissions audit tool that lets you gather detailed user permission data from servers on the network. This includes Direct Access Token, Direct and Group Access Token, Direct and Everyone Access Token and Access via Any Token. The data is stored in an SQL database on your MS SQL Server and can be exported in a variety of file formats including HTML, PDF, JPEG and Excel.

EMCO Eventlog Audit Pro collects the Eventlog entries from computers on the LAN to a Microsoft SQL Server database. This database can be searched for any details such as Event ID, Type, Category, Source, User SID, strings from the Event description and Time period. Searches can be performed on a single machine or across the entire network, allowing you to quickly locate specific events. Eventlog Audit also supports alerts, based on any of these details, allowing you to be notified via email as soon as they occur. Collection can optionally be be scheduled for selected (or all) machines to run at certain intervals.
