Outlook Add-ons

GeniusConnect makes it possible to synchronize Outlook data with any relational database that supports ODBC (MS Access, MySQL, SQL Server etc.). MS Outlook stores data (Calendar,Tasks,Mail,Journal,Notes) on the local computer in a .pst file, which makes it difficult to exchange this data with other systems or applications. With GeniusConnect, you can export your Outlook contact data to a database and also load data from the database into an Outlook contact folder. It is also possible to use GeniusConnect on multiple Outlook Folders and multiple databases and users can optionally protect private contact data by using a different Folder or by telling GeniusConnect to ignore items that are marked as private. GeniusConnect consists out of several COM objects, adds a new toolbar and becomes an integral part of Outlook after installation. Other features include Swiftpage integration, various types of synchronization with the database as well as auto-synchronization when Outlook starts and more.

EZDetach is an add-on for Microsoft Outlook, that enables you to extract attachments from messages and save them in specified folders, based on various criteria. You can choose to remove the original attachments, and just leave a link to the extracted file, thereby reducing the size of your PST files, or leave the attachment in place and extract a copy of it. Furthermore, you can define filters based on the file name, and only process specific files or types. Other features include an option to automatically remove orphaned attachments, reattach files when forwarding a message, zip compression and automatic extraction via Outlook rules.

DetachPipe enables you to remove and detach email attachments from Microsoft Outlook, leaving a clickable hyperlink to the locally saved files, thereby leaving the file still accessible, while reducing the size of your PST file. The attachments can be saved with the original or a new name, and save in a folder structure based on several email variables (sender, subject etc.). You can choose to process folders manually or on a regular schedule, or have the attachments detached automatically whenever email arrives in your Inbox. Other features include attachment compression and sharing of large attachment via an integrated online service.

Action Project Manager replaces the Microsoft Outlook Tasks pane with a more efficient and feature loaded task manager that allows you to create multiple tasks categories for different projects and manage them from within Outlook. You can assign priority levels, due dates, add contacts, notes and documents to a task, and conveniently review them at all times from a newly added pane below your Inbox. The program also adds a new button to the Outlook toolbar that allows you to quickly create a new tasks from any email message. Other features include sharing of task lists with other users, export of task lists, task filtering, and more.

SynchPst for Outlook allows you to synchronizes data in two Personal Folders (.pst) files quickly and easily. You can choose a single or multiple folders/subfolders to synchronize. If the selected folder does not exist in the target .pst file, the entire folder is copied, otherwise, the source and target files are compared and the entries are synchronized based on creation time and/or subject. If they are different, the item is imported, if they match, the item is skipped.

SpamAid is an easy-to-use Microsoft Outlook add-on that automatically filters the spam from incoming email and moves it into a quarantined folder from where it can be reviewed or deleted. The engine uses Bayesian filtering technology that identifies about 97% of incoming spam messages, and an additional Auto-Learning feature increases the filtration accuracy by analysis of the user`s personal correspondence. The program achieved very good results during our tests, and detected almost all spam messages. Since individual email needs are different, you can further customize the filtering, specify a list of friends and enemies, and also keywords that should bypass the filtering. Additional features include an option to quarantine all non-english character emails, system tray notification and more. SpamAid is a highly effective add-on that allows you to get rid of the spam in your inbox, without taking a chance to accidentally delete an important email, that may have been caught in the filter. Easy and safe to use.

Spam Bully is an anti-spam tool for MS Outlook, that learns from spam messages and continually adjusts itself to protect your mailbox. It uses proactive rather than reactive methods for eliminating spam, and will actually keep 99% of spam out of your inbox in most cases. We tested it on our spam mailbox and it filtered 199 out of 200 spam messages that were downloaded. This is very impressive, considering that it does not require any kind of user configurations. If needed however, you can customize the filtering by maintaining an automatically generated Friends list and also add any senders to a block list with a single click. Spam Bully tightly integrates with Outlook and moves all spam messages into a new folder (Spam) from where they can be permanently deleted. This enables you to keep an eye on what is being filtered and to make sure that no good messages got caught by the filter. The program can also bounce messages from known spammers, query emails sent from unknown senders (require confirmation), block selected attachments types and more. In addition, it produces a nice graph view that you can use to view your daily, weekly or yearly spam statistics. An excellent choice for Outlook users, and from what we have tested so far, it is definitely the most sophisticated one. A must-try for any Outlook user!

Express Archiver is a program for viewing, archiving and extracting of mails from original Outlook Express files (.dbx files). The program allows you to archive mails in full source (one mail-one file) or extracted text / attachments, access all folders of all identities registered in Outlook Express or open individual .dbx files. The archives can be opened and viewed in an HTML browser style view. You can also decode, view and save all mails of each folder, including newsgroup messages and decode attachments. If you are concerned about losing important mail in case of database corruption in OE's dbx files, this is a good tool that allows you to create an alternative archive, using standard .eml, text or html files. You can archive individual messages or entire folders (e.g. your inbox) which can then be browsed in a web browser. ExpressArchiver looks and feels very similar to Outlook Express.

Duplicates Remover for Outlook enables you to easily find and delete duplicated contacts, notes, tasks, journal and calendar items (but not emails) in MS Outlook folders and MS Exchange Server public folders. If duplicates are found, they can be deleted or alternatively marked, copied or moved to any other folder.

Duplicate Email Remover is a MS Outlook add-in that lets you search for duplicated mail messages in selected Outlook folders. If any duplicate messages are found, they can be be marked, flagged, deleted, copied or moved to any folder within Outlook. In addition, you can apply time filters, so that only messages within a selected period are processed, as well as priority rules allowing you to configure which duplicate to keep. Duplicate Email Remover integrates into Outlook and fully compatible with Microsoft Exchange Server and may be used to process public folders on a server.

Lookeen is a search add-in for Microsoft Outlook that can speed up searches dramatically, allowing you to quickly locate emails, contacts, appointments, attachments and other Outlook items, as well as local files on your PC. The program indexes the selected Outlook folders on a regular schedule, allowing for almost instant results from your keyword searches. Lookeen integrates with your Outlook toolbar and also provides quick access buttons to locate new mail items from the current day or week as well as items that are related to the currently selected email. Other features include support for multiple PST files, customizable background indexing and more.

Genie Mail Backup is designed to easily create a backup or archive file of your mail folders from Outlook 2000-2007, Outlook Express, Windows Mail and restore them if necessary. The backups can be stored locally, on network drives, removable media or FTP locations.

Outlook Attachment Sniffer lets you extract attachments from all or selected Outlook folders. The files are extracted, optionally removed or replaced with a shortcut to the saved file. You can specify the location for extracted files and optionally have the software create custom subdirectories and file names based on the Outlook folder names and email information (sender, date, subject etc.). The program is very easy to use and reasonably priced. Handy tool for any Outlook user.

OLFolders (formerly OutlookFolders) enables you to provide common access to all data in Outlook across a network, without the need for a MS Exchange server. You can create multiple users (up to 75) and set access privileges for each, on a per folder level. You can limit a user to specified folder and read-only access, while allowing another one full or restricted access to all or selected folders. OLFolders runs as a server/client application, where the server is installed on the machine that runs the shared Outlook, and others connect to it via a client application that integrates into Outlook. Data stored on the server Outlook appear as public folders on each client.

Attachments Processor allows you to reduce the size of your Outlook PST files by extracting and organizing attachments from your messages or mailboxes on the Microsoft Exchange server. The extracted messages can be automatically organized based on customizable rules that allow you to sort and name them based on the sender, subject or other criteria. You have the option to extract the attachments as a backup and leave the original files in the PST file, or to remove them from the PST and leave a shortcut, pointing to the extracted file. This option allows you to reduce the size of your mail storage, without loosing reference to the attached documents. Additional features include options to manage blocked attachment extensions, extension filtering, automatic processing and more.

Public ShareFolder (formerly Public OutLook) enables you to share an Outlook-PST file with several users simultaneously without the need for running Exchange Server. You can share Contacts, Calendars, Inboxes or Tasks and have full control access and rights for each item. All built-in functions are preserved also in the Public Folder and the existing Outlook network does not have to be modified. Public ShareFolder is not a synchronization program, but a storage provider like MS Exchange Server. In addition, Public ShareFolder is compatible with many Exchange Server add-ons.

Aladdins - Envelopes & Labels is an Outlook add-in, that enables you to print envelopes and labels for selected contacts with just 3 mouse clicks. You can print any data from your selected contacts, notes, or any custom information you enter. Multiple templates can be stored, which can include text, images, frames, US Postal barcodes and more. It provides direct support for Avery and Zweckform labels and can be customized to work with any other label as well. Aladdin also supports printing from distribution lists and multiple contacts, custom styles, alternate printer choice and more.

DeskLook is a system tray program that uses your desktop wallpaper to display data it reads directly from your Outlook calendar. It displays up to three months of calendar along with appointments, tasks and messages available on your desktop without having to launch Outlook. You can choose from 3 different styles.

OutNote is a unique Outlook add-in that enables you to attach notes to your Outlook emails and contacts. It fully integrates with Outlook, and to create a note, simply right-click any email or contact in Outlook, and select the `Create Note` item from the right-click menu. Whenever you select a message that has a note associated with it, the program will inform you from the system tray, or optionally pop up the note immediately. The program supports the Outlook colored flags and can automatically assign a flag of your choice to any message that contains a note. You can also attach files to a note, and manage them from a notes manager interface. A great productivity booster for heavy email users.

OutlookEX Recovery enables you to recover messages from corrupted Outlook Express (*.dbx) folders. It will automatically detect your default folders, and you can also add folders that are located elsewhere. You can choose to recover all or just selected messages, and save them to standard .eml format, which you can also use to import them back into Outlook Express. The trial version cannot save any recovered messages.

Outlook Picture Extractor is a simple tool, that can easily extract pictures and attachments from Outlook 2000 (or higher) into a directory of your choice. You can chose to extract only pictures or all of the attachments. A report can be created, that lists the extracted items.

Add-in Send Personally is an add-on for MS Outlook, that enables you to send messages to multiple people without revealing the other recipients. Each recipient will see only his/her name and address in the "To" field, as if the message was sent only to him/her. The program also works with contact groups, sending each group member an individual message. Send Personally adds a new button to the New Message dialog and to send the message personally, simply click on it instead of the standard Send button. A simple, but very useful tool, that allows you to make much better use of various Outlook features, since you don t have to be concerned that your email list will be revealed. Send Personally also supports mail merge with information from the address book, allowing you to customize each message with the recipients name, email and more.

WorkgroupShare for Outlook lets you share Outlook Contacts, Tasks and Calendars (not mail folders) without the need for Microsoft Exchange. The program runs as a server that is installed on the machine that contains the shared Outlook data and includes a client application, which is installed on each workstation that needs access to the shares. The server provides full administrative control over the shared folders - you can specify users that have access, and also what level of access each is granted per folder (read, write etc.). The client application integrates with Outlook and adds a new item Shared Information to the folder tree from where the user can access the data that is intended to be shared with his/her user account. The server can be set to automatically synchronize with the clients every X minutes and each client can also perform a manual synchronization as needed.

Shutdown Addin is a is a COM add-in for Microsoft Outlook 2000/XP/2003 that enables it to shutdown completely and safely when you exit the program. Many times Outlook can continue to run, even after it is closed, which can often be caused by other add-ons, that do not properly unhook themselves from Outlook. If you experience this problem, you may want to give Shutdown Addin a try. As an additional feature, it also allows you to launch an application whenever Outlook is shut down.

ShareO enables you to share and synchronize Microsoft Outlook Personal Folders with other ShareO/Outlook. The sharing of the folders is done via email message and attachment that is sent to the user, and then automatically imported by his/her local installation of ShareO. This system is suitable for sharing email folders, even if the users are not connected to a local network. You can create shared workspaces including Inbox, Sent Items, calendars, contacts, journal, e-mail, tasks, notes, and share any other folder. You can assign shared users on a per-folder level, and easily add new users from your contacts.

MailRelayer makes your Outlook email and contacts accessible from anywhere on the Internet. You can manage your mail using almost any email client, (including those on Palms and Pocket PCs) or any web browser (via a WebMail gateway). MailRelayer enables you to keep up with your office mail from home or while you are on the road. Optionally, you can also choose to authorize other people to read your mail by creating a password protected account for them. MailRelayer is a product not a service, it runs as a local IMAP server on your PC, that uniquely interacts with your Outlook mail folders. The program can only work while your computer is connected to the Internet, preferably with an always-on Cable or DSL connections and offers support for several dynamic DNS services. The program requires some technical understanding of IP addresses, so it may not be suitable for novice users.

Auto-Mate is an add-in for Outlook that allows you use define rules to move mail from your Inbox (or other folders) based on several criteria, including the age of the message. While Outlook already provides a very powerful set of rules, they can only be applied immediately when the message arrives, and not a couple days or weeks later. Auto-Mate fills this gap an enables you to apply rules to messages that have been in your Inbox for a given number of days or hours. In addition, the program offers a default set of rules and folders that works in conjunction with Outlook features to organize your mail into folders based on date and To-Do status.

Redirect for Outlook enables you to redirect messages instead of forwarding them. It adds a new Redirect button to the toolbar near the Reply and Forward buttons. The recipient of the redirected message will see it just as you saw it when it was delivered to you. All Internet headings will be kept, sender will remain the same, formatting will also remain intact. You can optionally define recipients, move the original message to the Deleted Items and more.

Add Contacts is a Microsoft Outlook add-in that enables you to automatically add e-mail addresses to the Contacts folder when you reply to a message and/or send a new message. It comes with a feature that attempts to extract the name for the contact as well (based on salutation), and you can specify a custom Contacts folder as well, allowing you to keep the auto-added names separate from your main address book. If you keep your sent messages in the Sent folder, the program can process all of them retroactively. Add Contacts tightly integrates with Outlook and there are no additional steps to take or buttons to click. (Note: Outlook 2000 already includes a similar feature, but later versions do not)

ClearContext IMS is an add-in for Microsoft Outlook that enables you to automatically prioritize, organize, and color-code the messages in your inbox. It uses many of the natively supported Outlook features (rules, views, folders etc.) and combines them into an easy-to-use email management system that requires very little training, and transparently integrates with Outlook, without the need for additional interfaces or applications. ClearContext IMS enables you to automatically display the most important e-mails from important senders at the top of the inbox, and less important messages further down the list. You can also set priorities for each message (criteria or Contact), which will automatically color code the message and move it further up the list. In addition, you can create topics, which are essentially mail folders where mail can be filed with the click of a button. New messages are automatically scanned for custom defined keywords or properties and assigned to the user specified topic. We found ClearContext IMS very intuitive and fairly easy to use. The use of native Outlook features ensures the integrity of your Outlook data files and tight integration makes the software easy to use.
