G-Lock Email Processor is a powerful tool designed to automatically process incoming email such as bounced/undeliverable, subscribe/unsubscribe requests, support requests and much more. The program offers an easy to understand interface and allows you to build a custom line of action for many different events. You can automatically extract data from incoming mail and perform other actions based on the message content. The program can update any ODBC database and run custom SQL queries, write the extracted data to a local file, send reply emails and more. G-Lock Email Processor can work with multiple POP3 accounts and supports SMTP authentication.

When new messages have arrived, it will notify you with a small popup window near the tray and an optional sound. You can configure multiple POP accounts and have individual sounds for each. PEN allows you to preview all subject lines, as well as the content of the messages and you can choose to delete selected ones without having to download them. The program also supports POP3 via SSL, IMAP, Gmail, AOL, Excite and Netscape as well as other web mail services (Hotmail, MSN, Lycos, Yahoo and Mail.com).

MailBell is a utility that lives in your system tray and periodically checks email on POP3, IMAP4, MAPI and several popular webmail accounts. It can check multiple accounts and works on LANs and permanent internet connections as well as with dial-up networking (where it automatically detects when you go online). When new mail arrives the program can automatically start your mail reader, play a sound and/or display an unobstrusive notification window from which yon can start your mail reader if you like. PopScan is a simple and easy to use e-mail checker with built in spam filtering options, dial-up support and more. It notifies you of new mail via system tray icon or optional sound. Furthermore, the program allows you to preview the subject lines of new mail (but no the content) and to delete selected messages or to block the sender from further mailings. Internet Drummer is an email checker with additional URL checking and favorites manager. It can notify you of new mail in your POP account, using several different notification methods and display the messages with subject in a preview window. You can preview e-mail while still on server and decide which to keep and which should be removed. A spam filtering option allows you to add selected messages to a filter list, thereby reducing future junk mail. In addition to the email notification features, you can also maintain a list of your favorite web sites and the program will check them on a regular basis, and notify you if any changes are found.

TickerMyMail checks your email on a user-defined schedule and displays the subject and header of new messages in a ticker tape, scrolling across the top of your screen. You can configure the color of the ticker, as well as the speed. The program supports multiple POP accounts and launches your email client when you click on a ticker item. You can also chose to delete selected emails and adjust the position of the ticker tape. Handy and easy to use but only basic email notification functionality.

MailTalkX is a email checker with integrated spam filtering features, that checks your mailboxes automatically at specified intervals and notifies you when new mail arrives. It offers simple hands-on spam filters that allow you to manually configure which subjects, keywords, senders etc. you want to block or otherwise process. You can create multiple rules and process matching messages by deleting, replying, forwarding, bouncing and other options. When new mail arrives, you can be notified with a voice announcement (`Darling you have mail`) or a popup notification window.

PayPal Notifier is a small and simple tool, that can check a POP account and notify you when a new payment notification from PayPal is received in the account. In addition, it can display the item name, quantity and total amount of the order. We expected a range of notification options or other useful options considering that this tool is specialized for a particular notification purpose, unfortunately these are not offered and the notifications are easily missed.
