Web Cam Broadcasting

HSSVSS is a monition detection system that can be used for video surveillance of your home or office. It displays full-screen video from your web cam or other capture device and offers a customizable detection zone and sensitivity levels to fine-tune the motion detection. If the program senses a motion, it automatically captures an image, adds a time stamp and saves it to a local folder and/or remote FTP server. Unfortunately it does not offer any additional alert features or actions to be triggered by a detection so it is mostly useful for passive monitoring. Other features include a thumbnail mode, emailing of reports (manually) and support for up to 2 cameras.

Secure Cam is a motion detecting web cam surveillance software that can automatically capture a series of images whenever motion is detected in the monitored area. You can adjust the detection sensitivity, automatically archive captured still images and playback the images in sequence with the supplied viewer application. Secure Cam can monitor and display up to 99 cameras and automatically organizes captures based on the device. Other features include support for multiplexing, time stamps, text overlay and more. The program works with webcams, as well as DVR cards.

Yawcam (Yet Another Webcam Software) is a web cam software that allows you to an image or streaming video of your web cam capture. You can choose to use the built-in web server, or integrated FTP upload to send images to a remote server. In addition, the streaming server allows you to broadcast live video with optional text overlays, timestamp and more. The interface is plain, simple and somewhat slow (Java), but the program works well and is easy to use.

Broadcaster StudioPRO enables you to broadcast video files, desktop activity or streaming video via your webcam. The program acts as a virtual camera drive, and you can configure any webcam application (e.g Yahoo Messenger, Live Messenger, Skype etc.) to use the Broadcaster driver instead of your regular camera. Broadcaster will then act as a proxy between your webcam and the application, allowing you to switch between live webcam capture and broadcasting of saved files, or even desktop activity. In addition, the program also enables you to broadcast to multiple applications, allowing you to use your webcam with more than one messenger application at the same time. Broadcaster StudioPRO can also be used to record video playback from other media players or web browsers by placing the recording frame over the video area and recording it. The video can then be saved as MPEG, MP4, AVI or VOB file. The program offers some unique features, we particularly liked the ability to send desktop activity via Live Messenger (or other applications). The lack of detailed documentation however will make it difficult to use for novice users.

U-Broadcast is a video broadcast server that can be used to stream video from your webcam to Windows Media Player 9 (or newer). The viewer can connect to the video stream via your IP address and view it in (almost) real-time. In addition to broadcasting, the program can also be used to capture video to a file, and optionally upload it to an FTP server. Additional features include support for video codecs (DivX etc.) if installed on your PC, as well as command line options for scheduling, and a built-in TV-tuner viewer.

WheresJames Webcam Publisher allows you to publish images or video from a web cam to the web. It includes various tools to enhance the image, including support for overlays, text captions (custom font and color), watermarks, time and date stamping, transparency, and translucency. Other advanced features include Chroma-Key effects, motion detection, auto-emailing, video effects and more. You can even publish screenshots of your Windows desktop or integrate them into your captured images. WheresJames Webcam Publisher comes with a built-in HTML creator, that lets you create a simple web cam page from templates as well as an FTP upload tool. A setup wizard makes getting started fast and easy.

WCapture is an easy to use webcam software with built in HTTP Server and additional support for motion detection. It includes features like graphical request stastitics, snapshots, jpg compression quality, offline messages, auto capture and more. To use it, simply start the standalone executable, it will auto-detect your video device. You can then choose to take snapshots or to enable the built in server, allowing others to access your webcam right on your PC via your IP address. The program assists you by having the URL ready to copy to the clipbopard that users will need to view your webcam. Optionally, you can add your webcam to the Digital Creation s Free Webcam List for others to find and view.

Surveillance Scan is a motion sensitive webcam utility, allowing you to initiate captures unattended, as soon as motion is detected in the target area. The scan frequency and sensitivity can be adjusted according to your preferences. Easy to use.

Webcam Timershot is a Microsoft XP PowerToy, that lets you take pictures at specified time intervals from a Webcam connected to your computer and save them to a location that you designate.
