twhirl is a Twitter client, written in Adobe AIR, that enables you to manage multiple Twitter accounts from your desktop. You can view and post tweets (with spell checking), read direct messages, get notified of new messages, manage your followers and more. The program also allows you to post images via TwitPic and can automatically shorten your URLs via a variety of services. Other features include the ability to search tweets using Twitter Search and TweetScan, and follow topics in near-real time with saved searches, as well as support for cross-posting to Jaiku, Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn and other sites. twhirl supports multiple Twitter accounts and also laconi.ca, Friendfeed and Seesmic accounts.

Thingamablog is a cross-platform, blogging application and RSS feed reader. It allows you to easily publish your own weblog without the need for any HTML knowledge. Unlike most other blog tools, it does not require the use of any third party services, but publishes the blog directly to the FTP server or network location that you specify. The interface provides a neatly organized overview of your blogs and a word processor like interface to create new entries. You can chose from several professional template designs, and all you have to do is click a button and your blog will go online. In addition, the program also allows you to keep track of your favorites XML/RSS feeds with the integrated feed reader interface. It can also generate a RSS compatible version of your own blog and import entries from RSS/Atom feeds.

You simply set Blog up with the necessary information for logging into your site via FTP, define a template to specify the look for your page and then type in your entries in the main Blog window and click Publish and Blog does the rest. It is a very convenient way to keep a site (or multiple sites) updated without going through several programs to do the job. The program includes a FTP upload utility as well as a site manger to maintain multiple sites.
