The program supports scheduled shutdowns, Wake on LAN, inactivity monitoring (local), shutdown cancel if a user is logged on, as well as other options. DShutdown offers is surprisingly well featured, especially for such a small program, however the documentation is in machine-translated English and difficult to read. The program is most useful when launched from the commandline or scheduled with Windows task Scheduler (e.g to schedule shutdowns that can be bypassed with a password). It installs to load at Windows startup, but only offers poor protection, since it can be easily bypassed by using CTRL+ALT+DEL before the screen loads (despite the author s claim that it cannot be done). Once the login screen is loaded though, any attempt to terminate the program without the proper password will result in a PC shutdown. Poor as a serious access control, but OK if used in combination with schedulers or via commandline.
