Dictionary .NET
Dictionary .NET is a multilingual dictionary and translation tool that can translate between 52 different languages. I makes use of several online services including Google Dictionary, Translate, Search, Suggest and Wikipedia. If the input and output languages are the same (default), the program will work in dictionary mode and provide detailed information with references and examples, sometimes even images and audio samples. If a secondary language is selected, the program will focus on translation features which include related phrases, as well as web definitions. Dictionary .NET can also be used to quickly look up or translated words or paragraphs on a website (or any other document) by selecting the text and pressing a keyboard shortcut. Standalone software, no installation required.

Alternatively, you can also use the main application interface to either copy/paste or type text that you want translated. You can then rate your response on a scale from A to F which will be used to dynamically adjust the order and frequency of the questions so that questions that you are having difficulties with will be asked more frequently. You can adjust a variety of settings to customize the delay between questions, change rating rules and more. If you can overcome the poor interface design, the lack of import features and non-existing documentation, Vocabulary Instiller can be quite useful for self-testing your knowledge. Standalone software, no installation required.
