Rainlendar is a small and compact desktop calendar that comes with some powerful features under the hood. It integrates nicely with your desktop wallpaper (several skins to choose from) and allows interactive access to selected dates, just click on a date to add an appointment or reminder. It also comes with a ToDo list that can optionally be displayed or maintained hidden. The calendar automatically highlights dates that have appointments and you can switch between months via keyboard shortcuts. In addition, Rainlendar can display your existing Outlook appointments (read-only), offers message alarms, and can also display multiple months, or the entire year. There is also an optional server available that allows you to synchronize Rainlendar installations across a network.

Kirby Alarm is an alarm and task scheduler that can launch a popup reminder dialog, play a sound, run a program or send an email address in user defined intervals. The scheduling options include simple recurring reminders, as well as more advanced options like every X day of the month, every other Friday, last Monday of the month, last day of the month etc. The program comes with a simple but practical interface and is easy to use. It doesn't look like much, but actually offers a very flexible set of features, and new reminders can be created very quickly. Runs in the system tray.

Fast Note is small program to create post-it style sticky notes for your desktop It runs as a system tray icon and opens a small, re-sizable notes window when clicked. Just type any note and close and automatically have it on your desktop. Notes can also be hidden and they re-activated from the tray icon. Fast Note also includes a small to-do list. Additional features include alarm option, transparency support and more.

Talking Alarm Clock can remind you of important dates and events by using a popup dialog, sound notification or Microsoft Agent character animation. You can schedule one-time reminders or recurring events (daily, monthly, weekly) and also limit alarms to certain Windows users. The program runs in the system tray and offers an attractive and easy to use interface that allows you to add new alarms easily.

Desktop Calendar places a customizable calendar on your desktop, that can optionally be integrated with a monthly wallpaper scheme. It offers 3 different sizes, from compact to large, and allows you to quickly enter upcoming events by simply clicking on the date. Once the date is due, you will be notified with a popup dialog. The calendar can be customized in color style and position. Additional features include import and export of your events, as well as a event manager to display all entries at once.

NotesHolder is a handy notes bar that hides along the side of your desktop and lets you quickly type in any piece of information. Move your mouse cursor to the edge of the screen and the list of the notes will pop up. Click once to create a new note or to edit an existing one. New notes are automatically stamped with the current time and you can search through all your notes by keyword. Easy to use and a good alternative for sticky notes.

Kana Reminder allows you to set alarms or run programs at a specified time. The reminder can be password protected and set to popup automatically. You can choose to set reminders on a daily, weekly, monthly or one-time basis. Additional features include sound notification, color coded reminder categories, program launches (reminder specific) and more. The program is easy to use, comes with an attractive interface and runs in the system tray.

Note-It lets you add one or more sticky notes to your desktop. The notes can be of different color on optionally be kept on top of all other windows. The notes can be saved, emailed or printed, otherwise they will be deleted on the next reboot (or when they are closed). It also offers special notes, which allow you to display the current time, computer memory usage or drive space usage. Notes can be minimized to icon size to save space.

It provides an easy to use interface with integrated calendar display that allows you to quickly view the tasks that are due for the selected date. It can also remind you of due items with a message from the system tray and allows you to organize your tasks based on priority and category. The display can be filtered by date range, status and other properties.

TimeSentry is a small and simple calendar with built-in time synchronization and personal reminder options. In addition, it offers a time/date calculator to calculate the difference between two dates and times to the millisecond, and also some additional system information like uptime, UTC time and more.

Birthday is a small and easy to use birthday reminder application. You can add a list of names and their dates of birth and it will automatically remind you when the birthday is due and d also calculate the current age of the person. In addition, it offers information on the star sign and Chinese Astrology based on the date of birth. You can customize the reminders, include email links and more.

Paper Notes is basic sticky notes application that is easy to use and comes with a few useful features. For one, the notes can be made transparent (custom level), and you can also choose to anchor them on the desktop, which allows you to click through them and access items (e.g shortcuts on your desktop) that are below the note. This feature is actually quite handy to add additional comments to a shortcut on your desktop, to mark a link you want to visit or to save desktop space. The program can start automatically and hides in the tray until there a reminder is due.

NoteIT is a personal notes organizer that runs in the system tray and provides quick access to write down and save notes. The program offers an easy to use interface with note items organized in a tree view. You can send a note by email, password protect selected items and also backup your entire collection of notes. Additional features include a search option, different skins to choose from and print support.

The program also comes with a ToDo list and reminder option that can be used with notes or ToDo list items, and alert you at a user specified time. A unique little note keeping tool with a good set of features.

AM-Notebook Lite is a system tray utility that provides an easy way to keep notes, TODOs and other data. It offers a tree-style notes manager with support for text formatting and inserted images or objects. In addition, it integrates an alarm feature, that allows you to associate selected notes with a reminder, and a built-in backup option that saves your notes to a zip file. A more powerful shareware version is available. Nonetheless AM-Notebook Lite makes a good tool to manage your occasional notes.

Notesbrowser combines a calendar and notes manager in a unique skin enabled interface. You can easily enter and auto save notes, infos, adress-lists, dates or bookmarks and access them in few seconds. The program features several different layouts, web support for email and http links and more. A Pro version with additional feature is available for purchase.

PrestoNotes lets you create virtual notes on your desktop, that can be hidden or shown as needed. Each note can be customized in color and font, and even include an image files. SwizzTool allows you to create personal reminders and automated tasks that can launch a program (file command) at a specified date/time, weekday or after a countdown has elapsed. The tasks also include options to reboot your computer, print a document, add text to the clipboard and more. In addition, SwizzTool includes a small memo pad with alarm features, integrated web search functions and a small clipboard manager that lets you save up to three clipboard items. The interface is very basic, no bells and whistles, but offers some very useful functionalities.

rndNoter is a small and simple system tray program that acts as a mini notepad to quickly type notes or copy/paste text snippets. It does not provide any notes management, but simply displays a single input window and new text is appended every time you add a note.

M-Minder is a simple program that can remind you of important events whenever your computer boots for the first time of the day. It supports single events, as well as recurring events, and you can choose to be reminded X days in advance for a specific event. The program is easy to use and has a simple, unsophisticated interface. However it is only useful if you have the habit of shutting down your computer each night - M-Minder will only remind you when the computer boots, if you do not reboot on a day a reminder is scheduled you will miss the event.
