MP3 Splitter is a simple audio editing utility that is used to split an MP3 into multiple segments (tracks). It is handy for dividing long radio shows or mixes. The program is easy to use, just load the MP3 file, and set the breakpoints while you listen to the audio playback. No further documentation provided though.

MP3Gain analyzes and adjusts mp3 files so that they have the same volume. The program does not just do peak normalization, as many normalizers do, but instead attempts statistical analysis to determine how loud the file actually sounds to the human ear. The changes MP3Gain makes are completely lossless, there is no quality lost in the change because the program adjusts the mp3 file directly, without decoding and re-encoding.

Mp3tag is a powerful and yet easy-to-use tool to edit ID3-tags and OGG Comments of MP3- and Ogg Vorbis files. It can rename files based on the tag information, replace characters or words from tags and filenames, import/export tag information, create playlists and more. The program supports online freedb database lookups for selected files, allowing you to automatically gather proper tag information for select files or CDs (if available). Other formats supported include AAC, MPEG 4, FLAC, MOnkeys Audio and more.

Mp3 Tag Tools is a small, fast mp3 tag editing utility that includes several features such as Mass Tagging, Renaming Tags from Filenames, Renaming Filenames From Tags and Custom Formats. You can also clean file names of unwanted characters and more. Mp3 Tag Tools uses a special function that reads and displays the full contents of your mp3 tags, including any junk characters that actually may reside in your tags. This allows you to create absolutely clean ID3 tags, as though they were created for the first time. Mp3 Tag Tools can accurately read all MPEG header information, even for mp3s with false frame syncs. It can also copy/ynchronize ID3v1.1 and ID3v2.x tags, export tag data as tab delimited text files and create directories from tag data to organize your mp3 files.

MakeitOne MP3 Album Maker allows you to join selected MP3 files into a single file that is compatible with any MP3 player and tag editor. The resulting file is basically a single, large MP3 file that contains the copy-merged tracks. The program can also unpack any album that was created with the software.

EvilLyrics is a small tool that works with WinAmp and automatically searches for lyrics (on the internet) to the song that is currently played in Winamp. It displays them in a small window that can be opened from the tray and also provides additional links to Google searches, Amazon album profiles, Lyric translations, offline storage and more. The latest version also supports Windows Media Player, Foobar2000 and Sonique (we couldn`t get it to work with Media Player XP).

moreTunes is a handy tool for music fans, that runs in the system tray and fetches data about the song currently being played in Winamp 5 or Windows Media Player 9. It retrieves the list of albums, album cover image, lyrics, and a lot more, and displays it in a tabbed interface. In addition, the program allows you to edit and repair ID3 tags, rename your files and search for similar music. moreTunes runs in the system tray and requires no further adjustments, it will work automatically as soon as you play any music in WinAmp 5 or Media Player 9.

MilkDrop is a Winamp visualization plug-in. It uses 3D graphics hardware, combined with iterative image-based rendering techniques, to create a visual journey through sound. It not only renders cool visualization effects but also the title of the current song, using a fancy swirling font at the begining of the title. Milkdrop can run in full screen mode, small window aor desktop mode. Desktop mode is probably the coolest of all, since it actualy replaces your static wallpaper or desktop color with a fully interactive music visualization - you can still use your desktop as usual, only that it s "alive" now. Very cool.

MP3-Info Extension adds a new properties page to the Windows Explorer standard dialog when you right click on an MP3 file and select Properties. In this new tab, you can fully edit the ID3-Tag and more. It is a complete D3v2-Tag editor with support for multiple files-editing, (multi-file) renaming, export, search. You can even change the icon for individual MP3s, and it has special support for classic-music.

ID3 renamer enables you to update ID3 tags for an entire folder of MP3 files at once. If your MP3s have tag common information missing, like for example the artist name or the genre, you can use the software to quickly add this information to all of them at once. In addition, the program lets you rename a folder of files based on a mask that is assembled from the existing tag data. Additional features include character replacement and FreeDB integration. ID3 renamer does not provide a preview or Undo option, but allows you to manually confirm every change before it is final.

1by1 enables you to play entire directories of MP3 files without the need to create or edit a playlist. The program is tiny and very easy to use. It provides a simple interface and a variety of additional features like shuffle, sorting by name, date, shuffle, enhanced mode and some others. This is a basic, but very convenient way to quickly play large numbers of MP3 files without having to fuzz with a fully featured MP3 player.

eags on! is an easy to use MP3 manager that allows you to edit ID3v1 tags and also gather the artist and album information from the freedb database. It also offers single or batch renaming of mp3 files, based on ID3 information or custom parameters. Additional features include creation of m3u playlists, directory renaming based on artist and more.

MP3-Tag Generator is a tool for simple and quick MP3 Tag (ID3 1.0, 1.1) editing. In addition to the Tag Editor, it includes a Format Editor to customize auto-tagging, a built in player with WinAmp support and a Drag & Drop Playlist Editor. The Tag Editor allows you to generate the tag out of the MP3-Filename by using customizable parsing formats and you can modify multiple MP3-Files at once.

Mp3ListShellEx is a small program, which ads "Create mp3 list" to the Window Explorer context menu and allows to easy build many types of playlists and mp3- file lists based on ID3 tags and MPEG frames information. Currently Mp3ListShellEx creates Media Player (.asx) and Winamp (.bpl, .m3u, .pls) playlists. In addition, supported list formats also include Excel tables (.xls, .csv) and Web documents (.htm, .xml). Program settings such as output path and list name, additional mp3-file data, their order and others may be customized.

This is a quite small, but useful extension for the Win 9x/NT/2k shell. It lets you view and edit all relevant information about an MP3 file and its ID3 tag from the files properties dialog in Windows Explorer. On newer versions of the shell (IE4 and above) it also shows this infomation in an InfoTip popup window if you move the mouse over a Mp3 file.

MP3BookHelper provides ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags editing and file renaming functions. It can also be used to easily create WinAmp-compatible playlists (M3U files), Information (NFO) files, Parity archive (PAR) data recovery files and Simple File Verify (SFV) checksum files. You can export and import ID3 tags to and from comma delimited text files, verify CRC/MD5 checksums and more. The program makes a good MP3 tagging utility and playlist generator, with many additional features, that are not commonly found.

MP3-finder is specifically designed utility for fast and easy mp3 files searching on your computer and local network. You can simply scan for all files in a selected drive/folder or search for specific information contained in the ID3 tag. The results can be sorted, exported to .csv. In addition, you can play the found files in WinAmp, create a WinAmp playlist and edit ID3 tag information.

LyricsFX is a visualization plug-in for Winamp that can automatically search for lyrics, matching the currently playing song. It searches a large selection of lyrics sites (customizable) and includes a lyrics editor, as well as line highlighting, beat detection and integrated visualization display (optional). LyricFX also supports lyrics that are embedded in ID3v2 and Lyrics3 tags.

InfoTag Magic is a Windows Explorer infotip shell extension that provides pop-up text containing ID3 tags information, including the title, artist, album, duration and more, when the mouse pointer is hovered over an MP3, WMA or Ogg Vorbis file. In addition, the program provides a preview of the first couple lines of plain text files, such as TXT, INI, LOG, BAT, DIZ.

TransparentFX is a general purpose plug-in for Winamp 2.x and up. It provides the user full control of the transparency effect for Winamp windows under Windows 2000. The plug-in allows independent transparency control for each of the four windows: Main window, Playlist Editor, Equalizer, and Minibrowser. It can change transparency depending on which state the window is in: active, mouseover and inactive. Skin authors can also create custom settings for their skins to be used with TransparentFX.

Abander MP3 Image Extractor is a simple MP3 Tag Viewer and MP3 Image Extractor. It supports ID3v1, ID3v2 tags (artist, album, title, track, year, genre, comment, image (APIC ID3v2 frames) as well as MPEG information. The program is very easy to use and simply allows you to view the tag information (if exists) and view or save any embedded image.

NotifyTunes runs in the system tray and displays details for the currently playing song along with the album cover (if available) whenever the track changes. You can configure the display time of the pop-up dialog, as well as the screen position. Handy, but very memory intensive.
