Floola is a standalone iPod manager that enables you to view, play, copy and organize the content on your iPod without the need for iTunes. You can manage and create playlists, copy content to or from your iPod, synchronize podcast subscriptions, find duplicated songs, manage your iPod notes and more. Other features include the ability to add artwork to your albums, download YouTube and MySpace videos, support for lyrics display, Last.fm integration, and more.

iTunes allows you to browse and download (purchase) music from the Internet. iTunes lets you browser the iTunes online music store from where you can search for songs, browse genres and then download songs, music videos or TV shows paying for each with the integrated order system (currently 99 cents per song, 1.99 for TV shows). In addition to paid content, iTunes also offers a large library of free audio and video podcasts. When you purchase a n item, it is downloaded as encoded file file to your local iTunes media library from where it can be played with the iTunes player or burned to CD with the integrated burning software. Your media is automatically organized and includes available cover art.

Juice (formerly iPodder) allows you to automatically download and organize audio content from various online sources. The Podcast system works similar to RSS feeds, only that it downloads audio files (mp3), that are provided by various Internet radio stations and other channels. Juice includes a content archive that you can choose from to get started, and you can also add your custom URLs to download your favorite shows. The program can automatically check for new content and download it for you without further interaction. It integrates with iTunes and downloaded shows are automatically added to your iTunes library.

YamiPod allows you to manage the content of your iPod without the need to have iTunes installed. You can copy mp3 and AAC files to/from your iPod, import and export playlists, search for songs, remove duplicates, create and edit notes and much more. The program runs completely standalone and can be copied directly to your iPod and run from there. Other features include a built-in music player, lyrics support, iPod information display (owner, serial used space etc.), adding and editing of notes and more.

Ziepod is a podcast receiver and player, that allows you to organize your favorite podcasts, monitor them for changes, download the latest episodes and export them to your MP3 player. It integrates a podcast search feature (powered by Feedzie) that lets you find new podcasts and add them to your repertoire. Ziepod offers a modern interface with different layout styles and integrated playback to listen to your podcasts. Additional features include iPod/iTunes support, BitTorrent support, user ratings, OPML import, automatic synchronization, popup notifications on updates and more.

MP3 to iPod Audio Book Converter enables you to combine and convert a series of MP3 files into a single iPod audio book file (.m4b). Unlike audio books in .MP3 format, the resulting .m4b file supports iPods audio book features, remembers the last listening position and allows you to adjust the reading speed. A simple but very useful tool for those who rip audio books from CDs, or purchase them in mp3 format.

Jodix Free iPod Video Converter enables you to convert popular video formats to iPod video. It provides a simple and easy to use interface, just select the file(s) to convert and click a button. You can optionally change output quality and video size as well. The program supports AVI, MPEG, WMV, RM, RMVB, DivX, ASF, and VOB formats.

iDump is a standalone tool that enables you to copy all or selected files from your iPod to your PC. It automatically detects your iPod and generates a list of the content from which you can select the files to be copied. iDump supports output templates and can automatically create folders based on the artist and song information. You can also search your iPod by keyword, create a playlist from the selected songs and set rules for unattended transfers. Standalone, can run from your iPod.

iPodWizard enables you to customize various icons, text strings and fonts on your iPod. It can either connect directly to your iPod and download the existing firmware for editing, or edit firmware from an Updater and then apply it to your device. You can scroll though the existing bitmap images (Apple logo, battery status, stars etc.) and replace them by using your own bitmaps, then write the changes to your iPod. The program also includes some additional tweaks as well as options to create and apply themes, downgrading firmware, extracting resources from Updaters and more, however these are mostly undocumented and should be used by experts only.
